EMU Emulator II - Unidentified banks.

Uploaded this demo yesterday (apologies for video and audio quality) and wondering if anyone can ID the first and last few banks featured. The first one came from an EII owned by Dave Bascombe but never heard the track before. Some of the ones in middle are from TFF, Shannon and SOS band but never b...

No need to anymore, they've both gone. :(

Despite being the best synth I've ever owned, the money the last one was worth was considered better somewhere else (in life's expenses) in the end.

Re: Parts for Elka Synthex?

I had both of my Synthex's serviced and maintained by James Walker with no problems sourcing the bits I needed 'except' the case fan. That was replaceable but the new ones always gave a vibration/hum, even when using rubber mountings. In the end, I just put the noisy old one back in which was better...

Re: Emulator II - Sampling Noisefloor

Is there anyone who actually listened to the example file EC posted and believes it's unacceptably noisy? I think the issue is in the mind of the user rather than the sampler. Agreed. The example posted had only a tiny amount of noise compared to source. Glad I'm not the only one that thought that...

Re: Emulator II - Sampling Noisefloor

Ah right, I'm no good on the tech side sorry. No, all my sampling is through the 1/4" sample input jack. I use the computer interface with Mac & Sound Designer (loading and unloading soundbanks only) but no sampling through it.

Re: Emulator II - Sampling Noisefloor

Every single one of my custom soundbanks has been sampled via the 1/4" jack input from a headphone socket on my PC soundcard interface. Nothing flash there and I've never had any complaints... Tried to sample my old Jupiter 8 into a V Synth Ver 2 and it mangled then all over. :D I didn't find it an ...

Re: Emulator II - Sampling Noisefloor

A bit of hiss? A bit of 8 bit grit? It's what the EII is all about. :) You can pick up an ESI sampler for buttons these days if you want something at CD quality to complement your EII. Can't remember ever getting bothered with noise/hiss on mine and I've done tons of sampling on it. Hardly ever use ...

Elka Synthex Battery

Anyone know what type of battery the Elka Synthex uses for memory retention? Dry? Wet? Lithium?

A courier is asking me the question and can't find it on the web or in schematics etc. Thanks in advance.

Re: E-mu Emulator II - Recapping the Monster!

Looks clean as a whistle Dan. When mine decides to play up, reckon a trip daan saaf will be required. ;) Nice set of Coldplay(?) chords for the Liquid Stack pad. One of my favourite sounds from the libraries. Need to get mine setup again soon as, still packed up months after house moving is not good...

Re: interesting custom jobs

that JX-3P / PG-200 combo is awesome, how they should've been made! Agreed, although Custom Synth did another with an angled top panel a while back that looked ace too.
