I for one could not have an EII in the studio, it would interfere with the composing process too much. That view surprises me but understand it's your own. I...

Re: EII vs EII...
I’m of fan of old samplers. Well, to be specific, I’m a fan of the sounds . For me it’s no fun at all trying to get old technology to work reliably and to integrate into the studio. There’s nothing worse than battling with a faulty floppy disc when you have a burning idea for a tune. You won't be w...

Re: Prophet 5 : 3.0 upgrade to??
My kit purchased from Wine Country gave me the 3.3 Eprom, midi board and sockets plus 120 patch memory no problem. Think mine was a 3.2 beforehand (which did not have extra patch memory) but pretty sure the tech I used mentioned any earlier Rev 3 can be upgraded to the later versions enabling a midi...

Re: how best to log/record synths for insurance purposes
Not lost anything but have worked for an insurer for over 20 years.... for vintage gear you should obtain specialist agreed value insurance cover, reviewed going forward to ensure it is adequate to reimburse you with its current value . Arranging the cover will likely require a valuation to be carri...

Re: Anyone remember Music Technology magazine?
I remember it well, buying them back in the 80's and early 90's and still have about a dozen of them. Did MT used to be Electronics & Music Maker previously? Got three of those from 1984 and 1985 featuring New Order, TFF & Cabaret Voltaire. Got issues 83 to 91 (excluding 90) of MT magazine from 1993...

Dr Who is a good choice, the Peter Howell 1980's version on the CS80 and Arp Odyssey even better I thought.
For me, this has got to be top o'the list:
