Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

They will make (many) more. And they will sell well. And you'll probably eventually buy one.

Re: Considering a Blofeld Desktop

Another question about the Blofeld Desktop unit: can phrases/arpeggios be triggered/demo'd while editing patches or multi's without the use of an external device? I found no mention in the reference manual or forums. Seems a no brainer that it 'should' be an option... Nope, this was really annoying.

Re: Considering a Blofeld Desktop

I owned one a few years ago. The good: I loved it and probably haven't been as productive in sound creation with any synth since. It had the encoder problem which sucked. All encoders are rated for an X turn lifetime so they'll all degrade eventually but iirc the blofeld was shipping with 10,000 tur...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

Saw Keys N Krates tonight. Synth rig: a minibrute and a midi controller for software . .. you sure bout that? Maybe they changed their setup but every time I've seen them pretty sure it was a korg r3, between the presets and polyphony I'd think the minibrute wouldn't do it all for them unless they ...

As long as I can borrow your synths and leave you with an HP function generator that makes perfect triangles at whatever frequency you want

Re: Korg Monotribe ?

I bet a pure triangle would have been inaudible in the lower frequency regions on the built-in speaker. Not to say that's what they started with anyways.. the imperfections make the tone.

Re: New MacBooks are out

I'm about to start a new dev job in a few weeks where they buy me a new macbook on day one. I am not sure if the order went through before or after WWDC so I have no clue what amazing beast is awaiting me, but it may be a retina macbook. Excited regardless - first top of the line computer I'll have ...

Re: cheap hardware sequencer

Do not get an MC303 for sequencing (or anything else imho)

While it appears to be a x0x step sequencer very quickly your patterns end up with notes in between the 16 steps and you end up stepping through a list of events with the little LED digits. Not fun.

Re: Waldorf Blofeld vs. Shruthli-1

blofeld is polyphonic and polytimbral, so connected to the rs7000 it can do up to 16 parts split by channel or by midi map. My favorite VA I think (still learning my virus indigo 2 and deciding if I like it better) struthi will be much more limited as it's monotimbral. You're comparing an apple with...

Dude I remember you from the midibox forums. Nice DIY work ethic, still going!

And sounds as dope as I remember when you posted audio there. NICE.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

Why should they bother innovating where every step in the right direction has the response "yes that's great but why doesn't roland recreate the sh-101"
