Nord Modular mint £255 + £20 P&P 8) Wouldn't have thought that 10yrs ago. congrats.. Nord Modular? I wanted to test drive one of those too a few years ago. You enjoying it? How much is that in American Dollars? before anyone answers that first let me try to find that information on the "sear...

This system would be exactly what I would need given my lack of space should I go modular. I don't have the green at the moment, but I've been considering a modular for years now and have read up on most of them with this one being the one that seems to best fit me at the moment. (short of my lack o...

Another thing to consider is that the matrix 6 came out at the absolute dawn of MIDI. As was mentioned in a similar thread recently, the matrix 6 crashes ALL the time. I am a proud owner of a 6r, but honestly I would prefer one of the cream-colored 1000s, as they sound exactly the same but crash le...

Hardware VA's are only software in a box. You don't make your point by comparing one hardware synth with one software synth. Then why the h**l does mine weigh so much? :P Anywhoo, a VA is pretty much a digital synth with knobs. It is indeed a digital synth with knobs. Though you can find VAs withou...

I'd rather put some idiotic quote that has s**t to with anything, but my twisted mind. That and my rampant, burning need to invent weird a*s philosophical bullshit that is nothing more than a giant, all encompassing mind f**k! I put s**t like that in my location too. Its f**k great. Oh and my gear l...

racism is not a pet peeve of mine IT'S EVERYTHING I STAND AGAINST. 100% behind that! But I have to say as a white guy every time I get called a cracker it's all I can do not to bust a gut laughing. Seriously that is no where near as offensive to me as some of the other racial epithets out there. My...

Just to clarify, we don't have any "carpool" or "passing" lanes around here. The left lane is generally just considered the "fast" lane 'round these parts. So if you are going the speed limit in the left lane you are considered to be going very slow! Most of my local highways are like that t...

I rarely drive in the left lane unless I am passing some one. These assholes who insist on it are usually soccer mom types in minivans, or worse truck drivers who ignore the signs stating that they are not supposed to drive in the left lane! On 6 or more lane highways around here the left lane is ei...

Re: Pet Peeve

Can people stop referring to synths as 'beasts'? Isn't this beyond a cliche by now? (grouchy) Yeah man my Matrix 1000 is such a beast I broke my damn rack when I mounted it! DUDE! IT SOUNDS SO BEASTEEEEEEEE!!!! Sorry man I just don't see the point here. Sure the phrase is over used and I have few p...

E-MU 0404 issues

Alright I've got an E-MU 0404 sound card that came with my Proteus X software package that is no longer functional. It just up and went silent one day, and my system detected new hardware upon the days start up. When it did so it detected my card as a Soundblaster Audigy and tried to install drivers...

I had a Matrix 1000 for a while but sold it. The mono-output is a drag for pads IMO. I know I might get flamed for this but out of all those presets, there weren't many that I liked. I know I didn't really give it a fair chance since I didn't try editing it myself but it just didn't click with me s...

The whole point of the ASIO4All drivers is to extend the wonderful ASIO driver architecture to consumer cards. The latency is ridiculously low using those drivers. I went from 42ms using DirectSound to 5ms using ASIO4All with an SBLIVE! x-gamer card. I've never used crystal though so I can't comment...

Bloody h**l... That sound is gorgeous on both of them. I liked the real one better, but I'd be extremely satisfied with the virtual one. Thanks a ton for that!!!! I would sit and just play that sound over and over again. Oddly enough every synth I've ever owned has a patch or three in it that I've s...
