Re: Smoke Damage

True. I think the cigarette smoke is a long term thing, with the sticky tar amassing dust over a long period and that dust being bad. My friend got a real good deal on a CNC machine that was in a fire. It was browned and yellowed and some of the exposed plastic was melted - but electronically it wor...

Re: Manic Compression

Yeah, Drawmer stuff is awesome - but that's a gate, not a compressor.

Re: Manic Compression

If you have to, a dbx 160 has nice, fast attack and quick smooth release essential for a punchy kick.

Re: Guess the synths (now with alternative answers added)

1. Jupiter 8 2. CS-80 3. Mini/Mini 4. Multimoog 5. Yamaha GS-1. Isn't this sound classic DX7, and would have to be the predecessor? 6. Oberheim 7. Since this sounds like the synth from Simon & Garfunkel's 'Save The Life of My Child' from 1968, I will have to go Moog Modular. My guesses will probably...

Re: Little Boots' Video - Remedy

Actually, I love Katy Perry regardless - and will either die of shame or chlamydia because of it. :sad7:

I've also always fantasized about Aguilera doing an album w/Queen and Roy Thomas Baker producing. Epic.

You can add $4 to the DW-6000 and have the 8000. :D

I've heard that Phish doing 'Frankenstein' on James Brown's keytar is the first and last sign of the apocalypse.

Re: Little Boots' Video - Remedy

Maybe the tweens will see this video and ask for the "black and orange keyboard like Little Boots has" and push the Arp 2600 into the 5 figures. That would be awesome since it's already hopelessly nowhere near my horizon anyways. 8)

Re: Polaroids as Patch Sheets

I would bet large sums of money that all things Polaroid would fetch large sums of money if they discontinued.
