V-Synth vs. V-Synth GT/XT?

If a V-synth has OS 2.0 and both cards (VC-1, VC-2) installed, is it functionally equivalent to the VT and XT? If not, what is it missing?
Forgive me if this is common knowledge but my quick google yielded nothing.
Thanks.

V-Synth XT as processor?

I've recently become interested in the V-Synth XT and am wondering about the processing capabilities for external signals. Especially in a studio situation. I downloaded the manual and about to start reading it, but wanted to ask your opinions. Does anybody here use it much as an external signal pro...

The single biggest tuning issue is the pitch bend pot has no center detent! So if you even touch it God help you getting the synth back in tune. Make sure all the sliders have been cleaned and lubricated, when I got mine it was a mess inside (hairballs, dust bunnies, etc.) and until I cleaned all t...

The Mk. 1 sounds nothing like a Moog, it couldn't be more different. It has a 12 db / oct filter and the filter sounds closer to an Oberheim SEM. Herbie Hancock's Headhunters is a good example... the lead synth sound is a whitefaced Ody. The 2600 is amazing but I'd much rather have an Odyssey and a ...

Phil Cirocco of CMS sells replacements for the old whiteface filters. I'd be more worried about getting an Odyssey full of dead sliders than worry about whether the modules are potted or not. The Mark I sounds very different than the later models. Though it's completely a matter of taste (12 db vs 2...

I kept one :D
At one point, I had 2 x 3100s and a 3200 all hooked up via the junction box. Now that was a monster.

I sold a fully working PS-3100 with pedals at the beginning of 2005 on Ebay and it went for $3350.

9 out of 10 problems on the PS series are caused by the edge connectors, which get brittle over time and crack in the middle. This causes them to bow outward and lose contact on the middle pins. Try removing the front panel and carefully inspect all edge connectors for signs of this. If you need rep...
