Re: Nord Modular G2

I can only say good things about Clavia too. I had problems with a repair that was taking too long and they helped the technician as soon as I contacted them. They were really helpful and replied usually within one hour (during daytime, of course). The main problem was that the guys from the store t...

Re: Nord Modular G2

The G2 has a much better interface, but I quite like the sound of the G1 as well. To be honest I don't think there can ever be too many Nord Modulars in a studio and despite I already have a G2X and a G1 keyboard expanded, I wouldn't mind getting some G2 Engines and even a G2 keyboard expanded as we...

Re: The Alesis Andromeda is DEAD

The same could be said about the Fusion... It is really bad that it has some stupid bugs... I remember I needed to turn the MIDI Sync off or else when I was controlling a module using MIDI it would start trigger random notes... It is a shame cause I think it is likely one of the best workstations ev...

Re: The Alesis Andromeda is DEAD

It is true that I am a bit frustrated, cause now I earn my own money and I would really like to use it to buy a new Alesis Andromeda. But still, comparing to other synths I guess the Andromeda is a much easier synth to sell. And the proof is that there are none now and the last time they were on sal...

Re: The Alesis Andromeda is DEAD

I agree... The Fusion is an amazing synth, and have they added more elements to it (dual filtering with all the types of filters presented in the Ion and more envelopes / LFOs, for instance), it could have been one of the best synths of the last years. If they have pushed it as much as they could, i...

Re: The Alesis Andromeda is DEAD

I posted a thread about this at electro-music.com - http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=41934 - and one person said that contacting Alesis, the reply he got was that they had no idea when the next batch would go out, but it was not discontinued. Other people said that the info they got fr...

Re: Korg Trident versus Korg Delta

The Trident is 8 voices polyphonic and it has 3 sections. However, if you split two sections, you will still only be able to play 8 notes at a time. From the schematics in the Technical Manual, I would say the synth and string section are polyphonic, but unfortunately the Brass one is paraphonic... ...

Tangerine Dream Underwater Sunlight Synths

Hi

Does anyone has an idea of what synths they used on this album?

I think I've heard somewhere they used a SCI Prophet VS and a Roland JX10, but have no idea what else...

Also, what kind of processing did they use on the album?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards

Re: Any reason I shouldn't buy a Prophet VS? Alternatives?

Why not sparing some more to get a John Bowen Solaris? I think you can emulate a Prophet VS "perfectly" with it. It won't have analog filters, but you can have the same structure. Saying this, I would like to get a Prophet VS too, but the reliability issues I've read on this forum (like units going ...

Re: Looking for new polyphonic analogue synth

The reason I didn't list Alesis Andromeda A6 in the list (even though it sounds fabulous to my ears) is that they aren't manufactured anymore. I can't get a new one :( Are they really out of production or are the new ones only coming around christmas like in last year? I was thinking of buying one ...

Re: Best Analog Modeling Sytnesizer On The Market

With any of this I bet you'll be quite already, but if programing complex sounds and having a huge set of features is not your main goal (in which the Nords clearly win), I'd probably suggest you to get the Novation Supernova II. From my experience is an amazing synth with a really lovely sound and...

By the way, anyone has any idea of how many were made?
Or is it better to just ask Olivier?

Re: Hardware Synthesizer Sales Figures/ Worst Selling Synths

Alesis Fusion is interesting. It's a wonderful workstation... but Alesis/Numark marketing strategy is near to absolute zero. The same goes for the Alesis Andromeda, a wonderful analog beast with no advertising at all. The Andromeda saved itself thanks to the great feedback from the users... Perhaps...

Re: Best Analog Modeling Sytnesizer On The Market

I have some VAs and likely the one I prefer in terms of Analog Modeling is my Novation Supernova II. It is an amazing synth and with some overdrive in the filter it can create some really amazing sounds. Saying this, I'm sure with some work it's possible to create something similar on the Nord Modul...
