Re: esx arpeggiator speed

Thanks, but that's not really what I'm talking about, and I keep the manual open when i'm using my esx. I don't need to simply reverse the functions of the slider and ribbon (i've tried, it wasn't all that different from the stock setting), but to change the rate of the arpeggio when it's triggered...

Re: Ensoniq fizmo- sounds

the fizmo is just more hands on and that's why it's so expensive. and it's purple. Yeah, especially if one considers having to be tethered to archaic c**p like Sounddiver to completely edit a sound to be a hands-on activity. The Fizmo is capable of lovely (weird and normal) sounds, but is ultimatel...

Re: New Access Machine!

Yellow snow would be funnier than black snow. The old "strip away the effects and it sounds s**t" argument has been around ever since the Elka Synthex was the first synth with a chorus effect. People compared it to their Prophet-5's and said "Dude, when you turn off the chorus it sounds WAY worse t...

You left out the "bizarrely muffled upper mid frequencies" feature.

Re: Blofeld DT sysex dump to reaper?

Not sure if you can do a sysex dump to Reaper. Try MIDIOX. Hook up MIDI out of Blofeld to to computer, make sure everything is communicating, hit the icon that has an arrow pointing into a folder and initialize your MIDI dump from the Blofeld. Really though, I thought the Blofeld came with its own e...

What about the korg microsampler? its limited in some ways but designed for playing samples across the keyboard.
Not really. It's extremely limited as a traditional chromatic keyboard sampler, and is probably the last thing I would suggest.

Doesn't the Nord Wave get lots of kudos for its Mellotron abilities?

Re: Cleaning mouse piss off a PCB?

I'm an analytical chemist Me too! Good to see you. I once cleaned old mouse urine and droppings from a lab instrument with a DI water bath and gentle scrubbing with a soft bottle brush and then rinsed it with acetone to remove the water. This proceedure was recommended to me by the tech support for...

Mostly been covered, but don't clean any component with DI water; it's corrosive.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

No particular section for modding, but feel free to make a post about your mod. We've a few mod threads floating around here and there. A shame we can't archive them.

Re: Replacing surface mount potentiometers.

You can just buy a solder sucker from RatShack. Cheap and works like a charm. Hold your iron on for a second, have plunger depressed on sucker, put to trace, hit button - bam, no solder.

Some folks like the wick, but I seldom have any luck with that POS.
