Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

What can the Monomachine do that a iPad can't?!? I have a monomachine, and I have had one for ages, but I still don't see it as something brilliant. The OP1 had me for 20 minutes and I fell for it more than I ever done with the monomachine. Just the thing that you can sequence stuff non-quantizised ...

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

@Soundwave: You act like a twat! The clever thing about it is the interface and that makes the hype. To write something you haven't even tried of as a gimmick is (I hate to say it) kind of usually behavior on this forum nowdays. And as I have played around with it I can assure you that it is more fe...

Re: any digital synth with a random button?

The Nord Modular G2 has something quite clever called the "patch mutator" which is brilliant for randomizing within a selected range of selectable parameters. You can make babies of two patch-variations and like dna it will take random features from both parents.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

There are some units around, but the first production-batch is due to ship in 6 weeks, so no one of the 500 people that ordered one has got their's yet.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

It does look well made. What I meant by production was their ability to produce enough units to meet demand. This is a new company with a fairly radical new product. it has the potential to all go horribly wrong if they don't get it right. There's your Chimera BC-16 comparison ;) ... How many were ...

You sure like a huge price tag with your polyphony! ;)

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

I talked with Jesper about it after Messe, but decided not to do beta-testing. I don't have time for it really, I rather wait a few months and buy one of the second batch or maybe the third depending on how well they sell.

Re: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer

Saw a couple of them standing on a table in Stockholm last week. Apparently they want to make sure that the functionality is up to pretty high standards before release and make sure most bugs are ironed out.

Re: Got Struthi?

About soldering the shruthi1. I never seen such nicely layed out boards in a diy project before. It is very straight forward and the assembling time for a novice is just a few hours. Great synth and a great project for a small amount of cash. In that regard, it looks a lot like the Sammich SID, whi...
