Re: Well known albums that feature the ER-1?

cevin key (solo) - officially released on sub 444 (the bonus disc to vault series 2), but it is listed as an outtake from the ghost of each room sessions, circa 2001.

cevin key's track "daytripper" - not one of his better tracks, but it has er1 all over it.

Esus wrote:Anyone had any experience with Cascade and Naiant mics?

i have a pair of cascade m39's and, considering how cheap they were, they sound pretty f'ing good! used them on quite a few things so far - acoustic guitar, drums (oh and out in front), vocals, and misc other percussion.

Re: Need some desperate help with my mixer!

using an RCA to mono jack plug with a 3.5mm adapter on the end. this could be why you aren't getting stereo/panning. look for a 3.5mm trs to dual rca or dual 1/4" jack (depending on wether you want to go to your speakers or to the mixer) instead. also check your gain staging. you could be clipping ...

Re: Why do U like the Electribe ESX1 so much???

many, many reasons. arpeggiator - live playability, especially stuttering samples and rolls. motion sequencing - ever wish you had more hands to tweak things with? now you do. keyboard parts with their own midi channels - perfect for controlling external synths. (though i wish the stretch and slice ...

Re: How fast are your tracks?

my tempos are all over the place and i generally don't give a s**t what dj's want. just use what works best for the song and find dj's who are into your style, however few and far between they may be. 79, 88 and 140 have been my favorites lately. especially 140 - i have three or four half done track...

of the things i currently own... nord lead - i love making you scream. how is it that you keep surprising me after all these years? ms20 - i hope it's ok with you that i bought a double plot so we can be buried together. dx9 - always in the shadow of your big sister, but i still love you. cz1000 - o...

Re: The first thing you sampled

tv news clips.

sat my sp202 down right in front of the speaker, rewound the tape to the part i wanted and sat there with my finger on the record button. tedious i know, but i got a lot of cool samples that way.

mbm synths?

i just got meat beat manifesto's autoimmune and can't stop playing it (ok, so i'm a little behind, sue me :P ). i know jack dangers has a ton of awesome gear (synthi 100, aks etc), but i'm wondering if anyone knows what he's using for bass on this album. specifically the tracks hellfire and children...

Re: acoustic treatment

egg boxes are pretty useless for anything other shipping eggs. you can use soft goods like blankets, curtains and pillows to help reduce high frequency reflections. won't do much for low frequency reflections though (unless you have 6 foot thick pillows  ). as for the panels, it seems to me th...
