I like Moog Mod V2. There are several bugs, but overall it makes great sounds. I like the interface; your signal path isn't hidden by menus. Nice sequencer too.

Here's Arturia's board. But be warned: Arturia is not too responsive.

It's definitely an electric guitar that has been processed, and as stated above, likely played with an Ebow.

I'd rather take the time to play music and not design instruments. For example, I love Reaktor, but I don't want to take the time to learn how to build my own synths. I love the crazy synths that are shipped with it, as well as what others who DO love to build new designs come up with.

Massive (the sample/sequencer, not the new mega soft synth) is really fantastic. I absolutely love that synth. Great for glitchy or any other style of sequenced samples. That synth alone is worth the price of Reaktor.

Reason is a very nice all-in-one package. It has the sequencer and mixer all ready to go. There's quite a bit you can do with it. I'm not wild about the synths or the fact that you can't use vst's in it. The synths are adequate. I like the "CV" modulation aspect. Reaktor is all about instruments and...

I think Reaktor is so many things (sampler, sequencer, synth, beat box, FX) that I would have a difficult time recognizing the characteristic sound of Reaktor.

To me, even the synths have a variety of sounds that would make it hard for me to distinguish Reaktor in a mix.

From what I have heard on your MySpace, Reaktor would perfect for you.

You're right about the effects. I think the Space Master reverb is outstanding. And then you get some wonderfully crazy FX like Lurker, Analogic Filter Box, Banaan Electrique, and Grainstates (just to name a few). I really love all the wacky step sequencer synths/samplers they offer like Wave Weaver...

I've been a Reaktor user since Reaktor V3. Version 5 is great. And yes, those ensembles that ship with it are outstanding. I think Reaktor is the king of soft synths. There were some great V4 instruments that were great too. 5 ships with a bunch of those too. I think Reaktor is a good example of jus...

Atmosphere--presets?

A friend of mine recently demo'd Atmosphere from a working version. He said he could not find anyway to create your own presets and save them. Is that true?

One of the earliest glimpses I can remember seeing a synth in a film was a Moog Modular being played by Mick Jagger in "Performance". That was a late 1960s film.
