The Moog Modular V is fantastic. You can get some very Moogish sounds as well as some off the wall ones.

A used Mooger Low Pass Filter? Perhaps that is more than you want to pay, but it meets all your other requirements.

Synthaholic is correct regarding the Little Phatty. You can change the note priority just as he said. The Voyager can do it as well.

For PC I recommend Sager. You can order one through PC Torque. They are used by many serious gamers.

A lot of people want new synths to sound like old synths. I don't. I like different models to have their own sound: a kind of Darwin-ian approach.

I never hear people complaining about the high price of a Virus TI keyboard; it's about the same price as a Voyager.

God, they were a great band! So ahead of their time.

Actually, does anyone know who the real musicians were, or did the sessions players change for each song?

I had very good results recording with my minidisc recorder. I would use good self-powered mics. When recording off a mixer, I would use line in. Never had problems with overbearing hiss.

An ensemble is usually (but not always) a collection of instruments. For example: you could build a 2 oscillator subtractive synth instrument and a step sequencer instrument and patch the two together and make an ensemble that would play in tandem. I guess they call their patches snapshots because i...

Fatcat is a good Moog emulator. CL909-xi-1.4 is another great sequencer that will play samples as well.

I own the Line 6 EchoPro rack, which is the discontinued big brother of the DL4. I absolutely love it. It's stereo and has longer loop memory. I've never understood why it was discontinued, unless no one was buying it. They are going used on Ebay for more than I paid for it brand new.

I've got the Lexi MPX 550, and I have nothing negative to say about it. It sounds great and is easy to tweak. The MPX 550 has nice smooth, enveloping reverb. It's other FX are excellent as well. I had an Alesis Midiverb 4 and hated the reverb. Its other FX were fine, but the MidiVerb 4's reverb was ...

I'm not sure. I've not seen either, but I remember reading a thread about the pads elsewhere, and I also saw a YouTube demo of it. I own an Akai MPK49, and the pads are a lot like an MPC500. They are made of very firm rubber and are thick. Here's a nice Youtube of the Kontrol49. He seems to like it:...

I believe the Korg's pads are a bit different from other manufacturers' pads. You might want to check into that. I think they are hard plastic. However, that might not matter to you.
