You know, I don't care if the instrument has DCOs, VCOs, or CP3Os. All that matters is how it sounds to the user.

does anyone have any sound samples of things they've gotten using the software synth? I'd really like to hear what you guys have patched up! Here's all I have easy access to. It's a very simple sequence, but it's very Moogy sounding: http://www.limitedwave.com/subterraneous/audio/MarkMahoney+M.Peck...

The bass synth sound in Stevie Wonder's "Boogie On Reggae Woman."
Many of Devo's synth sounds, like the Arp (Odyssey?) on "Gates of Steel".

And many of the slinky Moog sounds.

Here's how it worked for me. When I used the Phatty as a master and the Voyager as the second unit, both instruments will play the first note. If you hold down the first note, the second synth (Voyager) will play the second, third, etc. notes while the Phatty is still playing the first note. So you ...

I've tried it with my Phatty and Voyager. It's an interesting effect.

Minimoog D by George Duke

Nice minimoog solo halfway through. He does a quick tweak to add some crunch.

I love the Moog Mod V2. There's a lot to learn, but I didn't find the manual too difficult. Just take it slow, and eventually it will all make sense. I loved the sound so much that I eventually bought a Moog Voyager, but I still use the software as well. Yes, the drivers control the 3 oscillators. I...

Sorry, Mod Tallowwaters. I figured that this device has it's own oscillator, so it's sort of an analogue synth. I see it as no different than any modular system's module which I see discussed here. It doesn't actually process external audio inputs, rather it produces it's own sound which can be mixe...

I agree with Goldphinga's observations. They are both share a Mooginess but have their own sonic characters. It's not like the difference between a Micron and Ion or a Q and MicroQ or a MS2000 and a MicroKorg.

I agree, Sequence. Many people forget that the Phatty has CV inputs which opens up quite a few options. (Either they forget or have no experience with CV.) Add an expression pedal or a Mooger with CV outs and the LP takes off. I have both a Voyager and a Phatty. They are both wonderful instruments, ...
