I've had a jx3p for about 10 years and love it. It (to me) sounds better than the Juno 106 I had.

I looked into the step64 a little, but I think the mobius may be a better bet for the price. If nothing else I hear Future Retro has good service / help. There seems to be little MFB info / support in the states. The MFB does look reasonable though.

It seems what you are interested in is being able to adjust the step pitch values while the sequencer is running. The Mobius has this feature but the interface is by buttons not knobs. heat can be a problem. try to give a little room for ventalation. Also, don't abuse them otherwise. It seems like people who abuse them always get problems.

I really like DP. I've been using it for about 10 years though so I know it well. I think it's a great program and it works so well with a mac. I recommend it. I like it better than cubase.
