Roland's R&D department wanted a synth series which would be familiar for DX7 users, but they luckily knew that (at the time) the players still wanted realtime controllers to go with their analog rodents. Get yourself a 3p with the PG200.

Re: Gear Trading Thread

Anybody interested in swapping something of $400-dollar value for my classic Yamaha CP70 electric grand piano? Located in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Asking only $400, due to its current condition; otherwise, I would ask for more. http://i47.tinypic.com/2njvko3.jpg http://i45.tinypi...

With any Juno model, you only get a single audio oscillator per voice. The JX envelopes aren't the quickest, but think of what anyone can do with 2 oscillators per voice.

Re: Self Control

That was never tough for this musician, even when I tried avoiding it. I was four years old when that record was brand new, so it's unavoidable. Always gave me "satisfaction."

Re: Self Control

Thank you for the details, Z. I picked up on the 808 also. I wouldn't be surprised if either an MKX80 or JP8 were used on the record.

Self Control

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased an early CD print of Laura Branigan's third album, Self Control . The keyboard players were Robbie Buchanan and film composer Harold Faltermeyer. At the risk of reviving my old habit of repeating previously-explored queries, does anyone know what sort of synth arse...

Decided to have a crack at kind of emulating the sound of modular synths/sequencers, (with some pads from a JX3P over the top). I'm pretty dam pleased with the result. I've had the Tempest for a few months now, and f*...

How long has it been since anybody mentioned Wendy Carlos' score from Tron? Does that date back to the start of this thread?
