It's not an analog synth, all voices are generated digitally, so it's not like one voice can die.

When one "voice" is going out of tune, are the other notes you play still in tune?

My guess would be they are not lifted film/orchestral samples at all, but arrange/FX flourishes from the same synths they're producing the track with. Hmm, it doesn't look like a W5 to me. No raised central display and the markings on the back don't match the Yamaha W5 at all.
