Re: Do your synth desires ever get the better of you?

Right now I'm trying to save up for a modular and it's actually quite painful. I see all these ok deals on the used marked and I'm craving for that synth fix but I need to stay strong and save the money.

For 50 EUR I'd buy almost anything. Think of it as a fun toy!

Re: Thoughts on the Alesis Ion

I like it a lot but I haven't had enough time to explore all the features yet. I got mine mainly to quickly substitute a JX3P so I haven't made any complex patches with it yet, mainly typical Roland string sounds. I think I'll have to bring it home and spend some quality hours with it.

Re: Modular frustrations!

Thanks guys.

I think I'll go with the eurorack doepfer solution. Seems like it wins on portability and the amount of modules available.

A livewire/doepfer set-up would be nice. Do the livewire AFG require its own PSU? Or are Doepfer/Livewire completely compatible?

Roland Juno 106. The perfect analog live synth IMO.

Re: New modular SEMblance by A Solutions... thoughts?

telemark does look like a pretty awesome buy, check out bigcitymusic demo VIDEO semblance doesn't sound as raw and dirty as a SEM period, though a pretty cool synth indeed. But yeah considering the new moog and dsi synths don't live up to the vintage fatness I would be more surprised if the new SEM...

Modular frustrations!

Another modular vs thread! Lately I've been seriously considering acquiring a modular synthesizer. After getting a Vermona DRM-1 I've become more interested in sequencing and rack-equipment and less in keyboards and playing. Sadly I don't have the funds to buy a modular right now, but when I do I wa...

Getting: Vermona Piano-Strings (All the A-voices died the day after I bought it)

Selling: Juno 6. I miss the arpeggiator.

Re: SH-5 VS SH-7 VS SYS100-101

Yeah, I've only ever seen ONE SH-7 in Norway, and it was whisked away after 2 weeks standing in the used-synths shop I frequented. Did test it for a while though. Seemed like a spaceship. But of course I didn't have enough time to learn it totally and make it "my own" so to speak. I tested it as we...

I can recommend the Zoom H2/4-recorders. I have the H2 and the sound is very good IMO.

I can't really imagine how expensive and risky it would be to tour with a CS80. I'm pretty sure they keep it in the studio. Heck, I've had problem transporting a Jupiter 4!
