Buy It!

Buy It. I sold mine for 540 nearly three years ago and have been kicking myself ever since. Don't think. Just buy it- it rocks, for way more than bass. Simple setup, but very sweet sound. And speaking of bass: I recently picked up an SH-1. (similar to the Sh-2 minus an oscillator and plus an envelop...

The SQ-80 is far more modular in its design, and so much more flexible than the MS2000. Almost anything can modify anything else, which really opens you up to a vast array of timbres, pads, basses, etc.. There is, a course, a downfall with all the horsepower and that is complexity- one can get lost ...

Hahaha...seeing as how nobody has done it yet, I'm going to raise the green flag for the Ensoniq ESQ-1/SQ-80 line. Wouldn't be a proper VSE discussion without it! People love'em or hate'em, but their harsh, lo-fi wavesamples coupled with the curtis filter really knocks out some organic beehive fuzz....

Sounds like the RS-7000 platform is a heavy-hitter on this site. In defense of the Command Stations  , I used both the RS and the Emu units and ended up buying Emu. In terms of sound production, the RS-7000 is far more flexible- removable storage media and the on-board sampler get high marks. I...

If you want something with a bit more depth, 1000's of presets, expandable ROMs, 13 velocity pads, 16 track mutes and an advanced synthesis engine, look no further than the Command Station line.

I have one and it is a magic muse.

Once you catch its flow, nothing can stop the sequencing madness.

Here's a question- the VSE demo of the Prophet 600 is a really complex and organic sounding patch that I've probably listened to 2000 times. For some reason, it just does it for me. Could the Prophet-5 be able to fluff up this kind of patch? By extension, would the pro-12 be able to recreate this? I...

what you might also potentially consider is an ASR-X Pro. since you're already using the ASR-10 this might be a good option. btw, i like your taste, both the ASR-10 and E5000 are two of the coolest samplers ever. i'm not quite sure if the ASR-X will be what you're looking for, but personally i find...

Thanks lads! That Roland is a pretty sexy beast, but no storage facility??? Yikes! I'm basically looking for a device that can store samples and respond to MIDI notes from an outside controller. (and perhaps do some basic sort of mapping) I'd prefer it not be a rackmount unit, as I already have a co...

Portable sampler for my XL-7?

hi folks Do you know of a small, portable sampler that I could trigger live with my XL-7 Command Station? I've been doing a lot of interesting sample creation/mutation with the ASR-10 and E5000, but I'm wary of lugging them out to gigs just to act as romplers for my XL-7. There must be a small, chea...

Bought and MPC2000 from Josh@resonance and it just arrived. Not only was it in immaculate condition, but he even tossed in a brand-new-in-the-box power cord as well as the manual. Now all I need is the SCSI boot disk and I'm making beats for a very low price. Really nice guy to boot; thanks, Josh! -...

I bought an Emu XL-7 Command Station from DivineAudio. He shipped it out immediately, and included a gig bag and manual. The packing job was first rate, and the unit itself was in pristine condition with the latest OS.

Nice to have trustworthy folks like him on VSE!

Thanks, DA
