I had the same problem as you, and after 5 hours researching the net, Finally I could manage the answer I was looking for. You can download a softwa...

Altought I have understood it was a real instrument (at least for original version), I checked that a DX7 can achieve that sound.

There is a preset on cartridge called Oboe that match it quite well.

I had not that bias problem or hiss recording with minidisc. Check the "mic in" minijack, they use to give lot of noise which is amplified by the Mic preamp.

Altought It is true ATRAC compression is not the best deal...

My choice would be to get a full duplex audio card, which allows you play audio (D/A) and record it (A/D) at the same time. So you can open any audio editor like cool edit /Adobe audition, and set the audio card settings to WAVE INPUT. Then, press record and play the file. Audio should be recorded t...

Sorry I don't have them. I didn't noticed either that JX came with presets in the internal memory from factory too.
Also, JX midi implementation is really weird, as I can't send/receive more than 1 voice at the same time!
Hope some vse fellow can help--

First of all, I would check again the battery replacement. Check the voltage and polarity to ensure it is replaced right. (I understand you've entered all the parameters one by one and moved the data entry slider for re-mapping all the values after replacing battery). Altought it is strange that you...

I cover my synth rigs (I have them in rows of 3) with bed sheets. It works fine and doesn't seem to be any static problem over there.

Even the synths sleep better :D

I played some used origanal DX7's in store's,that brown color is not very inviting,or appealing, and in certain lighting it's downright,, I'll just leave it at that,in Sonicstate's Top 20 synths,I don't know who the artist was but when going into detail about about dx7 programming difficulties ect.,...
