eeaton, almost sure the power supply has to do with it. But as said, think power supplies can give some shocks even unplugged. I understand by your comments you are comfortable handling electronic parts. But think a capacitor can discharge its voltage if It has charge inside. Take special care about...

Hi there. I am not used to that software but I guess it can be done. I do that in Pro Tools this way: I just create a new track. Then I insert the effect I want. Press track Record Button. In my Mbox, I turn the record-Playback balance full to playback. In PT settings, I set H/W Buffer Size to the m...

New - for giving me the opportunity to have fun & explore soundscapes throughout months. And for complex sound.
Totally agree.

Win Xp can´t be boot in DOS mode because it hasn't MS-DOS. Xp has a kind of emulation, but not true dos. Several old computers (I mean old as ten or more years old), running in Win 95 or even 3.1, have real MS-DOS for sure. Maybe you could try to get one of these for really cheap (if not for free) a...

In the "perfect kiss" video it's definitely an Emulator II. On the other hand, in the video for "Blue Monday" we can see an Emulator I. I think this video was filmed around a year or so before the one for Perfect Kiss. Yeah, I was pointed in that direction, I understood they were talking about an E...

I understand what you mean. If you are handy in electronics, go. If you are not enough handy, think twice. I've removed almost every keyboard I own. At first, there is not much difficult, but some flat ribbon socket can be a nightmare to remove. Also is important to be perfectly grounded before touc...

Emax crash

Happyness is not forever :D My Emax 1 crashed yesterday when I was into sample mode. I can reboot it. "E-mu System Inc... Loading Software" message is shown and OS is loaded as the banks too but all the keys (both keyboard or select buttons) don't work anymore. So, I can't run the diagnostics mode. ...

AFAIR, Akai S series disk must be formatted to akai propietary system. It must be done for transferring samples from pc to akai, so I guess it is the same for OS recognition.

There are several programs for transferring data from pc to akai system. But I guess they only work fine on old systems.
