Re: Help, I Am Hopelessly Obsessed W the Moog Saw Trumpet So
i too love that sound, i think there's a naive beauty about it, pretty sure it'll be the first sound i dial in when my mono/poly arrives, the second, will be a face melting 4 oscillator PWM triangle stack

Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?
May i add, that this is a synth that really really goes to other levels when you add effects, delays, chorus, etc. A small amount of distortion and selective EQ'ing can add back the bassy balls that some people think this synth lacks too :) (PS and you should trust my opinion 'coz i'm now a member o...

Re: Akai MAX49 - USB controller with CV/Gate output
It's no surprise, soft synths are kinda worthless, i mean, they can do alot, but are often pirated. People want real analogue but don't want the high second hand price tag/maintenance issues and companies are starting to really take notice. This controller looks pretty, i think it'd look really good...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
I wonder if the CV outs are midi to CV outs... Yeah, I was wondering that as well. You'd think they'd also be hyping it as a MIDI-to-CV converter if they were, but who knows. As far as the small keyboard, which I've dealt with on my Nord Mod G1, I just wish when they did them that small they'd incl...

Re: Synthesizing the hand clap from "Being Boiled"
that was very insightful
i think he's mainly talking about the original version of the track from around 1980. the one i'm interesting in finding out about is the one off travelogue, it's a bit faster and has that crazy clap. interesting none the less

Synthesizing the hand clap from "Being Boiled"
Would love to recreate this dirty clap sound from the human league's being boiled: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0z6adZaRXo&feature=related (Sound comes in about 00:41) now, there are points in the song where it is in isolation so i could just sample it, but that's not much fun! i'm gonna guess it...

Re: MIDI question (using multiple devices)
haha lets just call it a gap in my knowledge. After all these years i've learnt to program a DX from the front panel, do all sorts of crazy modulation and effects stuff with va's and soft synths, and all sorts...but i've never midi'd up more than one synth at once. I'd usually just grab the synth i ...

MIDI question (using multiple devices)
Hi, i'd like to control 2 devices from one master keyboard (a yamaha dx11) in unison, ie, layer the two synths and play the same thing on each, at the same time. One synths will be a yamaha cs15 controlled through a kenton pro solo, the other a doepfer dark energy. Now, the kenton has a MIDI THRU po...

Re: Pimp My DX!
well i figured that fake wood veneer has gone from being tacky and passé to actually being retro now so why not? it certainly looked better than scratched black plastic, and the wood on the juno 60's were all veneer over chip board anyway weren't they? really getting back into this synth, i actually...

Pimp My DX!
The Yamaha DX11 is probably the most interesting 4-op DX of them all. I fell in love with it as it is built around a sound generation chip VERY similar to the one used in the Sega Genesis/Megadrive and i grew up with those kind of sounds. Mine came from ebay for around £70, most FM synths can be bou...

Re: Little Synthesizer Expander Modules (ie Extra VCO's)
is latency really going to be an issue for me? the cs15 will be the only thing needing CV to midi conversion (through the kenton) as the doepfer dark energy has midi built in . i figured all i'd need to do is take a midi out from my master keyboard, split it into 2 (using a splitter cable) and feed ...

Re: Little Synthesizer Expander Modules (ie Extra VCO's)
i figured out what i'm gonna do, i'm gonna get a kenton pro solo and midi up the cs15, so far so good, and then i'm gonna buy a doepfer dark energy, and midi that up. then i'm gonna put them together on a double keyboard stand (might build a little arm to hold the doepfer) with my AN1x beneath, and ...

Little Synthesizer Expander Modules (ie Extra VCO's)
I'm getting my CS15 soon, and i'm very excited! I'm sure that it will, as my first de-factro analog monosynth, keep me entertained for quite a while, months in fact, but i thought i'd ask about expandibility. I'm aware that i can use the synth to control other CV equipment (with the right V/oct conv...
