Have i killed my Roland JP-8000 ?

I have a Japanese Roland JP-8000 that runs on 110V but "a friend of mine" plugged it into a 240V power supply. I went POP! and now won't switch on. I have very little idea about electronics but am wondering what may have happened, is it simply a blown fuse or TOTAL PROTONIC REVERSAL !? :( Any help w...

Any Eurorack Modules like a Yamaha CS ?

can anyone recommend any eurorack modules similar in sound to the black Yamaha CS-5/10/15/30/30L series synths. Im especially interested if there is anything available with the same "polite" sound as the wonderful (imho) CS30 multimode filter ... there seems to be many MS20 clones but i guess the CS...

Re: Roland System 100 potentiometer needed

Hi, I finally got time to open up the system 100 101 Keyboard, quite a nest of wires inside, and interestingly something on the board says "S/H" if only that was a hidden sample and hold circuit tucked away in there ;) Anyway,,... Here are a couple of images of the part I'm looking for. http://img53...

Re: Roland System 100 potentiometer needed

Hi Snod donkey, Many thanks for the reply, Ive not opened up the 101 to take a picture but yeah ... late night mistake, the waveform select is a rotary switch and not a pot :) In the service manual it says it is: Rotary Switch ESR-E124K 202 (001-055) Im not sure if thats helps clarify at all, I will...

Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

wow, some really great stories.

As for me :
Crumar Performer at a rainy car boot sale in the early 90s for £2, still not 100% ok but sounds incredible.
Yamaha cs30 - $80
but cheapest must be an ms20 for free. :)
I hope everyone get lucky too
