Grats!

Here are a few steps I have found helpful to follow when getting oriented with the microKORG. 1. Learn how to initialize a patch so that you are playing with just a basic saw wave. To initialize, hold down the SHIFT key and press the 3 key. The display will indicate "ini". Press the blinking 3 key. ...

Re: FireBox good, MOTU better?

He said "Firepod" not Firebox. The Traveler is not an upgrade to the Firepod. The Firepod is great. Presonus has great coverters and they make killer preamps. I run my Firepod into a MacBook Pro running Logic 7 and Ableton. It works fine. The Firepod has been dicontinued due to a lawsuit fro...

FireBox good, MOTU better?

I had a FireBox for quite a while until I recently pawned it off on my singer. I had good results with my iMac (Intel) and PowerBook G4, and I liked how it worked on Mac. Now I have upgraded to a MOTU Traveler which I found for around $500, and I love it! There is one thing that I miss about my Fire...

How to Audio MIDI

How would I do that? Honestly I've just always plugged the thing in and it worked; I never changed any settings other than latency and that was in Garageband. To open the Audio MIDI utility, open a new finder window. Navigate to the Applications > Utilities folder. Within that folder you will find ...

Clock Source?

You might open Audio MIDI Setup and make sure the Clock Source and other settings for the Tascam are set up right. I have had problems in the past because my Clock Source was set to something weird.

Firewire

Yeah, definitely go with Firewire if you have a Mac. Also, you generally don't need to be afraid of used interfaces as long as they aren't beat up. Just confirm with the seller that the unit is working and doesn't have any problems.

I haven't used the Edirol, but I have used the Presonus Firebox, which is a good unit for that price range. I would highly recommend any MOTU products, such as the Ultralite, 828mkII, or Traveler. I recently purchased a MOTU Traveler and am very happy with it. Unfortunately, the MOTUs will be quite ...
