Re: Archangel Sequencer

It definitely looks cool. Not sure how much use the weird chasing sequence thingy in the video would be but quantized output would be great! I use to have a serge with a tkb but the thing that annoyed me was how close together the knobs were, these look like they have a bit more. Not sure though. @...

Re: Hartmann Neuron VS, Intel Mac -- Free

I have a recollection that the supposedly Nuke only parameters can be modulated through midi....this might be a false recollection, but I remember asking about whether the output of the nuke could be recorded and automated. It did work, but I think that the issue was the density of the recorded info...

Re: Archangel Sequencer

It is definitely designed along the lines of the tkb... As of a few years ago, it was going to ship 'imminently'. As far as I know, it hasn't shipped yet (?), or has just begun to. I wound up transferring my preorder... It looks pretty cool. I remember researching back when it was announced, and I h...

Re: Red Sound EleVAta

I just may have got lucky? I just bought one like new in the box old stock for $200, $12 shipping on ebay. So did I do good? I heard they suck but wanted to try one for myself. Thanks for any info. They were asking over $700. Going to review it for my book I am working on for starnge synths. The gu...

Re: Spectralis OS development is moving ahead...

So, what exactly is the point? That people who don't like the Spectralis interface should shut up? I don't see this as relevant at all. I like or dislike an instrument based on my own use, not someone else's.

Re: Spectralis OS development is moving ahead...

yes - being a small company explains some of it, but not the long periods of no communication, etc..... And yes - I do have a bit of experience with synths and synth companies. I have an a4 (as well as an OT and Little Deformer). but all of these are very different instruments. The Spectralis sounds...

Re: Spectralis OS development is moving ahead...

It's always a bad sign though, when people refer to a synthesizer as a "beast". The Spectralis is an excellent example of why one shouldn't buy an instrument based on promised features. In this case, as I recall, there were lots of advertised features when the Spectralis 1 was released years ago tha...

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse

I have a G2 and it's great. I've used it for heaps of different things in the studio and live, from sequencing a set of midi controlled bells for an outdoor performance to triggering synth voices with drum triggers to using as a normal poly synth. It's a fantastically useful synth and should have b...

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse

No, I don't like to stir up trouble. It seems to me that you're stirring it up. Stir it up, and then ban the people that object. That's the VSE way, as I recall. You asked me how long they should support the software - what was the purpose of that question? How can there possibly be an exact answer ...

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse

Demanding that I give you a firm cutoff date is starting with the presupposition that my expectations are unreasonable. I have some rather reliable reports that the g2 does NOT run very well on current Mac software. It is not a risk I'm willing to take, especially given the fact that I have no assur...

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse

Not into working with computers? WTF? I wasn't aware that they stopped selling the G2 15 years ago. Are those dog years? Symbolicsound for example would be an example of a relatively small company that always provides an upgrade path for their hardware, and continues to support you even if you have ...

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse

O/T but operating systems moving on is a nearly unavoidable issue for anything computer based. The Nord Mods are great though, not only flexible but actually very robust and easy to use. And of course they still work - if you find your latest Mac won't run the old editor you could pick up an old iM...

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse

Even if they came out with a nord modular 3, I'd never buy it. They have a history of releasing these things, and then dropping all support of them. How long do you want them to support discontinued products? you mean do I have an exact number? That's absolutely ridiculous. There have been lots of ...
