trade it. there is so much power in the xpander, you will flip. sounds incredible... any of the six voices can be used in any way: assign one to a midi channel, another to CV control, assign one to a keyboard zone, assign it to the same midi channel as another voice, make all voices the same for 6-...

I dunno - are you sequencing analog or midi gear? I'm not convinced that these are as cool as other stuff that's currently available. The Schaltwerk seems to have some nice features, but is really overpriced. Depending on how much you want to spend, I'd research a Schrittmacher, p3 (only available u...

My opinion...had one for awhile and sold it. Don't miss it a bit. Does it sound analog? Not really. Too clean. Does it have a distinctive personality - I don't think so. It sounds pretty generic. (this is not to say that you can't program interesting sounds with it, but synths do tend to have a core...

I'd recommend creating your own sounds/sequences from scratch for awhile before you give up on it. If you do give up on it, realize that you are NOT the only one not to like the monomachine. I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship with them. I've owned 2 (the tabletop, and the keyboard) and ulti...

OMFG!
In addition, it should be added (referencing the 'beast' designation) that the Neuronium is the only synth with actual DNA.

An unusual and powerful synth that uses samples in interesting ways, and isn't mentioned that much these days, is Symptohm by Ohmforce. It's not like anything else. I can't remember, but if their demo is like that of their other products, you get unrestricted use of it for about 7 hours or so (meani...

And I would say that it would be very silly for someone who can't discern any difference at all to spend the extra money on the hardware version.

the whole FLstudio can be used as a nice x0x0x style sequencer.
The Nortron is very nice, but it is mac only at this point, and doesn't run as a vst.

There might be another similar program or 2, but I know that Bidule will work. Not a wrapper per se, but if you purchase the program (I think it's about $80 or so), you can use it as a plugin. Within it you can load either au or vst plugins. Bidule is actually a very cool little program. I haven't u...

It looks like upgrading to Cubase 4 may be the only solution. I don't have those two parameters checked off -- that fixed my other timing problems. I'm going to play around with Live a bit more before I make this decision ... It's ridiculous that I may be forced to upgrade for a feature that should...

WinXP. I honestly was happy with Cubase up until recently. I want to keep using. I hope I can find out what the problem is. Live looks beautiful and seems to work great, but I'm completely lost in it. What sort of MIDI functionality does it lack that Cubase has? I'm wondering if that will affect me...
