Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

I'll also comment on the Omega series - ultimately, after the initial enthusiasm over the pure sound quality wore off, I decided I didn't like it much. It's one of those synths, and it's hard to describe, but I've had a similar experience with the Nord Leads....it's like they are devised to give you...

Re: Xpander Vs SunSyn vs ???

Some subjective comments, since anyone can research feature lists, etc.... The 2 have this in common - they are 2 of the best user interfaces ever devised. the xpander, being mostly menu based, however, is not nearly as suitable for real time tweaking. For setting up complicated sounds with lots of ...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

Bought a synth from droolmaster0 and it arrived today just as described. Very nice! Thank you! This was one of those deals that required lots of communication and understanding and b3groover is absolutely first rate. The shipping/packing turned out to be very expensive and he chipped in beyond what...

Re: Glitch Sequencer

This looks cool. I'm hoping someone can help me out here. It's been a long time since I've dealt specifically with Java on my mac (g5, 10.5.6) - I've spent the last half hour trying to figure this out, but maybe someone here can help me cut to the chase. Apparently you need version 1.6 of Java. I'm ...

Re: Just bought the last Genoqs Octopus Legacy!

According to Gabriel, I just got the last Octopus Legacy edition from their stock! The line was limited to 100 units worldwide. Its been a very long time since I've been so excited about getting a new toy! =P~ Ah - so you haven't even gotten it yet? Be prepared for a bit of disorientation. Its stre...

Re: Just bought the last Genoqs Octopus Legacy!

congrats, mate! The Octopus is equal parts high-end electronics and sculptural furniture; really, really beautiful. I would say I'm totally jealous, were it not for the fact that I'm about to pull the trigger on a Serge M-Class this week. New toys make everything better! :smilebox: Don't they now.....

Re: Just bought the last Genoqs Octopus Legacy!

Congratulations. I'm the proud owner of a Nemo and my only regret is why the heck didn't I pick up an Octopus in the first place. These things are gorgeous. I love the look of the Nemo. I actually think that it's cooler looking than the Octopus. But, having an Octopus, there would be no reason to g...

Re: Just bought the last Genoqs Octopus Legacy!

Congrats! I plan to get one in the near future. Hopefully, someone needs to raise some quick cash and put theirs up for sale. I'm just not too crazy about shelling out $3K for a piece of gear. Unless you're really into step sequencers, that's a crazy amount to spend for one. However, if you are rea...

Re: Promising glance at the "Oddulator"

Wow! I love the fact that the sequencer is so tied in with the synthesis. The latter part of the video is exactly the kind of jamming I love to do with my desktop evolver. I wonder if this will have midi clock in for syncing. Having those two running along side each other seems like would be a lot ...

Re: Promising glance at the "Oddulator"

It's been awhile since I played with the dsi stuff, but what you say is consistent with my recollection. The rozzbox is pretty damn solid.

Re: Promising glance at the "Oddulator"

It looks interesting but depending on the price, the DSI Mopho might be a better deal. Is it polyphonic? If not, can they be chained together for polyphony? Disclaimer - I tried out a prophet 8 for a few hours, but never the mopho. As I understand it though, the mopho is pretty much a monophonic ve...

Re: Versatile and favorite sequencers: What's yours?

midi sequencer - overall, nothing even begins to compare with the Octopus. But I don't always like sequencing that way. I love analog sequencers, working with modular gear. Just a different experience entirely. I'd put the SAM-16 - much more limited than the high powered midi sequencer, but what it ...
