Re: What's up with GenoQs other than its pricetag?

Well, it sounds like this might be for me then. I have an MPC, Monomachine, Machinedrum and doepfer modular with the sequencer. I know how to use the sequencers on all of them with the MPC providing the most flexibility and intuitive programming. So far the Doepfer seq has been the most fun and ins...

Re: What's up with GenoQs other than its pricetag?

Very cool. Thanks for the explanations. I will check out the octopus manual and begin organizing my plans to rob a bank later this week :) BTW, I do have modular and digital (Mono and MD) hardware. Well, the sam-16 is very cool but also incredibly expensive given that you really don't have multiple...

Re: What's up with GenoQs other than its pricetag?

Perhaps the best reference point for the pricing would be other current high end sequencers, and then also the dollar against the euro.... Currently the Schrittmacher, for instance (which is a great sequencer in its own right) goes for $1,999. hmmm - I could swear that it was up to $2,199 a few mont...

Re: Initial Genoqs Nemo Reaction-

... @droolmaster0 i'm only really interested in a midi sequencer..i do have a lot of cv/gate modular stuff, but i have a kenton pro which helps control all that. My comments were made with that assumption. I love my Octopus, but for controlling modular synths, I do find that a good analog sequencer...

Re: Initial Genoqs Nemo Reaction-

... I also had used the Mono for external sequencing until I received the Nemo. The Nemo is superior in every way, but the one thing to realize is that there is no pattern storage. You will need to upload the current "machine state" via sysex (maybe USB soon?) in order to save the current patterns ...

Re: Warm/cold subjectivity

drunken thoughts: warm and cold, as applied to music, are metaphorical. There is no technical manual as to how to apply them - they are by definition subjective. If I describe a sound that EVERYONE else descibes as warm, as a cold one, I'm not incorrect. All you could really do to analyze this is to...

Re: The Complete DX7 by Howard Massey

For a cheaper copy - http://www.markglinsky.com/ManualManor.html . Looks like he has this one. I dealt with Mark once, and his prices are reasonable.

I"m curious - would this book be helpful with an sy99, or is it too dx specific?

Re: Nemo finally available

I've already ordered and paid mine. The unit should arrive on my doorstep in the next few days. Waiting for Nemo to arrive is like waiting for Santa Claus :) I think you'll love it....which step sequencers have you used before? In any case, let us know what you think when you get it. I hope so too ...

Re: Nemo finally available

The GenoQs Nemo has been released and I wanted to see if any VSEers are planning on ordering one. I am tempted, but due to financial constraints (just bought a SE Omega), I can't afford it now. Also, I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts about the Signal Arts MAPS midi sequencer. The Nemo can ...
