Re: The noisy side of the Waldorf Blofeld
Well, for it was a synth demo originally all sounds were unprocessed, no additional FX, no mixing at all. I made a (hopefully) more transparent version with some EQing and compressing to leave more room for the vocals: http://www.trippler.net/files/blob/blovessel2.mp3 Not sure though if I should mak...

Re: Why do presets universally suck?
The P08 is in the same ballpark for me - not sound wise but some presets I quite like, some I have tweaked and many sent into hibernation on my hd. So did I, though I programmed around 30% of the factory presets ;) As mentioned before, manufacturers like to show variety in the factory presets. So t...

Re: Why do presets universally suck?
I nearly exclusively use presets. My own presets, that is. They are presets because I usually don't program them for a specific song. I have my sound programming days when I program and store sounds, then I have days when I try to make a little track with these sounds. Not using presets means that y...

Re: Why do presets universally suck?
As for preset-bashing, I see it like this... One either likes a preset or not. If so, then use it. If not, then replace it. It's all a matter of preference. That's true of course and I couldn't express it better. What bothers me a little though is that people tend to say "suck" instead of "I didn't...

Re: Why do presets universally suck?
I've always wondered I think it's mainly because most manufacturers can't pay an ingenious sound programmer like you  What are presets actually ? Imho they are just sounds that some people programmed in a way they liked. If you rarely find presets that you like, it demonstrates that your tast...

Re: prodigy
I did always play with the oscillator sync switched on. If for some reason my pitch wheel was a glitch or a modification it was one of the best glitches ever. I love that effect. Your pitchwheel worked flawless then. You might however discover just a few interesting capabilities of your Prodigy if ...

Hi DoC This is your Old School? Unfortunately not. I have it only for 2 or 3 weeks for a review. UPS will pick it up again on Monday  What are you using to control it? Filter etc etc.... I played it partly via MIDI-CV inteface to correct my bad timing. Modulations were however applied exactly ...
