Re: Electribes Updated

This has already been discussed in the messe thread. Not really that big a deal, especially for the EMX, cause the files are so small anyway. It's good that you can store up to 32GB on one card, but the actual memory size of the samples that you can load into the machine hasn't changed so it doesn'...

Minidiscs are the s**t man.
Cut your recordings right, you can use playlists as a sequencer

Re: musikmesse 2010 Frankfurt

I don't mean disrespect in this statement but the elektron boxes to me either always sounded like overkill (the MD) or I just didn't like the tones (MM)... That being said... that new elektron box really excites me. I've seen some demos of the uw resample function being put to good use but at 2.5mb ...

Re: New Roland and/or Korg synths using REAL analog filters?

Cool. I don't think I will find a use for monotron but I like korg and think they manage to make tools that are both mass market and useful. People knocked the electribes because they're mass market, now that they're no longer in production look how many people have changed their minds. And its obvi...

Re: Software Drum Synthesizers vs machinedrum

the only soft synth I've used so far that's been able to be as quick and immediate as I would like for drum synth programming is rob papens albino 3. With waldorfs attack there are so many goddamn parameters to map it makes it really unwieldy to use with a midi controller. What I do with albino is p...

Re: modding/upgrading the ESX

I've been surprised to see recently on youtube that there have been a few really good demos of the esx and other electribes.

For awhile the videos you could find demo'ing the electribes was often really generic and boring.

Re: How do you make your rhythm tracks?

Drink/smoke. When I wake up in the morning surprise myself with mysterious recordings. Heh. What I do isn't all that different from what's listed here. Often I will start a basic 4/4 loop triggering a synth/vst depending on what I have or just jam out, start recording, and then just muck around with...

Re: Is it legal to buy used soft synths?

Ha who cares just do it anyways... These arbitrary laws as there is no means of enforcing it. I understand the concept of licensing but I think its bunk - theft is just part of the expense of business and is just one of those facts of life you have to accept when your product is information. licensi...

Re: Does such a sequencer exist?

Oop it seems we were talking about different things, I misunderstood what you were saying is that you wanted something that would allow you to alter sequences live in more dynamic way
I didn't realize the problem was resolution

Re: Does such a sequencer exist?

My frustration with hardware sequencers is the opposite of this. All step sequencers shift to the 16th. If I record a sequence on my monomachine with a nice organic groove, it, cough, "perfects" it. A step sequencer that would have the ability to turn this locking to the step business on and off fo...

Re: Korg Micro Sampler

ah after reading the manual i was hoping the "auto next" meant it had round robin triggering, and i was hoping those led buttons doubled as a TR style step sequencer but i guess not. still seems fun but clearly not supposed to be a successor to the electribes, more like an mpc500 with a few trade of...
