Re: Why do U like the Electribe ESX1 so much?? TIPS

Fun trick, if you want an another part on the electribe to behave similarly to a slice track, what you do is: 1. Say you've got a 4/4 loop, first resample it 2. You put the sample start time at the beginning and then you want to wind the end time down till you stop hearing the second quarter beat . ...

Re: Why do U like the Electribe ESX1 so much???

It's a shame that the pattern set does not allow to store the same pattern with different variations. That's, for example, the best feature of the crappy Roland groovebox series. On the pattern mode, you can store the same pattern, with different effects, different patches, different tracks muted o...

Re: Why do U like the Electribe ESX1 so much???

I like: pattern set. Some people are great 'finger drummers'... I am not. The bread and butter of jamming for me lays in mashing variations and sequences. That in combination with the motion sequencing and the ability to quickly alter step by step values like a tracker with only a simple alpha-numer...

I say do it out the back of the van and it should be alright.

And the nervousness thing - smoke some pot.
It doesn't work for everyone but it certainly works for me.

I seen a 909 listed on craigslist for 800 but the ad sounded skeptical and location was a neighborhood known for robberies and other illicit s**t...

If you can't break a thousand get an older jomox for hardware. I want to get a jomox but for the time being d16's program does the job nicely.

ableton live "drum racks" has changed the way i work

Anyone else ever get an update and just totally neglect to check the depths of the new stuff? In the past few days I decided to give drum racks a whirl and stumbled on the function "extract channels". It streamlines the process so so much. Being able to get a basic pattern developed and then group a...

Re: Minimoog drum sampling

never heard any drum sounds out of a 303. also never heard any drum sound that uses oscillators out of a 707. besides that, NOTHING beats a real 303, as NOTHING beats a real minimoog (even for drum sounds :D) why would you want to sample something from a vst anyway? Pflosi: Do you even use software...

Re: Do people get addicted to flipping synths?

I flip but its by no choice of mine. I'm an idiot with my money, and I just perpetually buy and sell stuff. And with the exception of a korg electribe I bought new everything I've bought I have managed to sell for usually a profit and sometimes twice what I paid for it (I'm not gouging anyone I have...

Re: Some thoughts on using a JX-3P in a mix.

I've had a jx3p for about 6 months and so far I've been liking it in the mix for melodic percussive bits. Bells and keys or something with no attack and very short decay. I've been digging the sound you get when you sequence it externally and have the sequence go to another synth, adjust the gain an...

Re: Why the alesis micron gets no respect ??

Or if somehow Akai reduced the Micron/Ion engine into a Blofeld style box for cheap. now. . that is a serious idea! I was actually at one point considering buying a micron and mutilating it. . removing the circuitry from the keyboard shell and fitting it into a box. . I never did get to look inside...
