hp touchsmart pc

Anyone use one of these? I work at ohare airport and hp installed these things all over the airport and I gotta say they look bad a*s. What I'm curious about though does the multitouch function of it work with ableton and vsts? And due to its casing it isn't clear if you can install your own soundca...

Re: Flying w/ Synths

Ha I work for tsa and if customs asks you to 'test' it or demonstrate its function then they're not doing their jobs right. I would expect that they're just going to test the casing surface for explosive residue and visually inspect it and send you on your way. Run it thru the xray by itself to redu...

Re: Cheaper alternative for Monomachine / Spectralis

I found a very affordable emx so I got it, of course I was not looking for that sound but the device is really fun to use, I do not regret it at all.. I forsee that I will sell it some day once I get what I want but I won't lose a buck and the emx is actually very profitable. Now about the Quasimid...

heres an odd one sequential circuits six trak vs. korg emx

I'm kinda thinking of trading the six trak for an emx.
I like the six traks sound but I don't like its inability to tweak sounds after recording a sequence.
Obviously the emx trumps the sixtraks sequencer but how does it synthesis compare?

i think for longer samples youll have to just buy multiple units and learn a few tricks to make the most of your available sample time.

Re: The first thing you sampled

It was with an sp202, and I would plugin some audioline splitter from radioshack into the headphone out on my tv one signal went to my stereo while the other went into the 202. The source was a dvd filled with cheesy horror movie trailers from 60s to the 80s. The levels were always f**k up, and I ha...

The mc 909 I think can do what you're asking for in spades, but at the same time I seem to recall that there are quirks in its sequencers os

cheap usb mixers that bus all channels?

Any recommendations?
I've read that some usb mixers only bus the stereo mix and not the individual channels. I just want 8 channels of inputs, my current setup of only 1 stereo input is feeling limited

Re: Cheaper alternative for Monomachine / Spectralis

Emx. I used to not like its sounds but run the output thru a decent distortion unit or plugin and a fuzzbox I love how it sounds after going thru the plugin ohmicide and a freebie fuzzbox emulator from audiodamage. Keep the er1 though, the electribes are at their most versatile when used in tandem w...

Re: Versatile and favorite sequencers: What's yours?

Now I'm back to all hardware sequencing and I love it. I'm using the Fantom G's buggy half-assed sequencer now and its so gratifying and immediate. I've made tons of little jams and loops with it whereas I always felt stagnant at the computer. I guess its all psychological. I think Roland is on the...
