Hi! I unfortunately don't own the service manual but my guess is that the calibration trimpot need attention. It could also be a bad resistor (has changed value) or even a diode that need to be replaced. I'd try the trimpot first. If you've got access to a frequency counter or even a guitar tuner, i...

Not difficult. It's just a matter of unscrewing the bottom screws and lift the top. I'm sure it's just a matter of dirty contact. Maybe a loose wire but I'd check the contact underneath the key first. Just push on the back of the key to get it out of the way. Most of the time, there is c**p there (t...

Hi! Thanks for the offer and will gladly accept it. I can even pay for the shipping if you want me too. About the books, there are plenty: go to the website and you'll see in store>books a navigation bar at the left called "Book Menu". Point your mouse there to expand it. And then choose a category....

Your best course of action would be to send it to a Korg service center.

If we weren't so far apart, I'd say I'd look at it to evaluate the extension of the damages.

Side note: if it's not salvageable, please don't throw it away: I'd sure have use for it. I buy dead and broken gear.

Maybe the Electrix Filter Factory would worth checking. Not as powerful as the Filterbank but much more affordable (especially on eBay). Alesis Philtr is also very affordable... I recently got one but had no time to try it out.

I sincerly hope your friend will find a fuse.

If not and the XT is pronounced dead, I might have use of the remains. Contact me if you plan to get rid of it.

Thank you! I never wanted the austerity look. Many repair shops' website are boring as h**l. I'm trying to make it a bit wacko, like I am.

If I am not mistaken, the XT does not have a fuse. But the PSU have taken a blow for sure. I don't have the XT schematics atm. If I did, I would have a much better understanding of what could have be "damaged". I ignore if Waldorf thought of a protection against that. For a quick inspection: open it...

Where are you from? If you're in Canada, I'd look at it for an obscenely low price. I'm honest and reliable. But accept repairs from everywhere too. Could be a simple fix or a more elaborate one. Sure thing, there's a short... For the extend of the "damages", I'd have to actually see the synth. I la...

What I meant is that it's possible to make the synth works without one by mean of bypassing (I've seen it before and go figure why)... In my hurry, I thought I read that the fuse (well, the holder) was disconnected from the circuit... Usually the fuse is for a section of the board. BUT by clowing cu...

The fuse is there to prevent current overload. So if an electric problem arises, the fuse will take the blow instead of the components.

The synth will work without one but it's not safe... The synth can fry and there will be nothing to prevent it. That why fuses blow!

Hope that helps
