Re: Delay pedal for synths??? Moog? Memory Lane? etc...

So far, my favorite is the Ibanez AD202. It isn't a pedal, however there is a knob for every function and there is a push/pull knob (the volume knob) to switch between different level types. An amazing piece of kit for sure. You can get those for much cheaper than most of the options you listed. How...

Re: Do you have patches that you use over and over?

When I've created something on the ProOne that I'm keen on, I write the patch down so I can re-reuse it later if I want. This is what a digital camera is useful for! :D You might get funny looks if someone sees your memory card contents and finds 30 pictures of the same synth, but otherwise, it's q...

Modcan w/ +-10V Modules....

Does anyone have any experience using the Modcan Digital Delay or Vector Fade with 10V pk-pk modules from other manufactures? The Vector Fade doesn't look like it would be a problem as it accepts 10V pk-pk, but the Digital Delay is only 5V pk-pk. I'm really tempted by both of thoses modules, however...

Re: If you were buying today...

I chose Waldorf for the following reasons: The voyager is nice, however I have everything it does covered. I'm not into the LP, mopho, or prophet08. I already have a PEK, I've had an A6, I'm wishy washy about the virus's interface, I don't want a workstation, and I've been waiting on the Stromberg s...

Re: Mopho Keyboard version

I personally would love to see DSI put all this re-hashing of the old stuff to bed and get going on finishing off the LDII and then starting work on a sample-mangling keyboard (think MEK without analogue oscs, and with sample playback oscs with modulatable start and loop points)....... I hope if th...

Re: Alesis Andromeda Sound Examples

I really never want to buy another synth, but the demos make me want one. I suppose I could get rid of a few other synths to make space...... but it's so ugly-looking. lol, that it is! I had an A6 in my studio for about 2 years. I liked it as it does sound great, and it does have a lot of knobs, ho...

Re: Do you have patches that you use over and over?

Well... yes. I can't really tweak my 606's sounds without modding the h**l out of it (and I'm pretty content with the individual outs I gave it), so there's 7 sounds that get reused often right there. As for my PEK and juno60 (my only synths with memories), I only use patches that I've created. All ...

Re: The gear I've had during the years...

Hmm..... Here's a list of noise makers that I've owned. I'm not going to list recording|mixing|monitoring gear or effects because I've had a bunch and I don't I can't remember exactly what I've had...... As for "synths", this is the stuff I currently own: DSI Poly Evolver Keyboard ESI 4000 Future Re...

Thanks Danjel, and welcome to VSE! I feel honored that your first post is a good trader reference to me! But, a good piece of advice.... don't spend too much time on this forum - it will consume your soul ;) For everybody else, Danjel van Tijn ( intellijel ) was a good buyer. Danjel paid shortly aft...

Some would probably think this is a stupid recommendation but whatever, why don't you get an old allen and heath mixer..... eq's are f**k awesome!! And the pre's are sweet! An old GL* board will cost you as much (if not less) than a premium channel strip and sound amazing! These mixers would definit...

Re: GT Brick or other pre?

The FMR RNP has great reviews but runs off a starved-plate (9-12V), no? Not that I have any real input regarding pre's; however "starved-plate" refers to tubes with low voltages running through them. The higher voltage = more headroom; starved-plate (ie low voltage) = easily distorted. The RNP does...
