I run through a FET boost, and play through a 4x12 w/ two horns out of a 150 w bass head. I can usually hear myself pretty well. You can also pick out a frequency range per song so I'm not fighting anything. Unfortunately sometimes its just hard to hear others esp on stage when everything can sound ...

MOTU 896
Hey all,
I'm wondering if the original MOTU 896 is compatible w/ intel macs.
stabby, wiss?
I finally upgraded my mac and cant use my 828 mk 1 anymore...
I looked around and could'nt find anything and figured I'd ask my fellow savvy vse'ers.

I have the 585 delay, 565 chorus, and the 575b flanger and am looking to get more. the chorus is great- nice and glassy but not hugely versatile, what it does- it does well. I especially like it w/ springverb and compression. Plays w/ the Juno very nicely as I hate its loud 80s crap-corn chorus. awe...

I'm a fan of the dod 575b, its pretty versatile and has a nice windy vibe to it. It can still be found on the bay once and a while and does'nt get a lot of bids and stays reasonably priced. I'm not sure if your power-box can support 18v( also the adapters are hard to find find- I have one I share fo...

I like mine, but its a 'now and then' as opposed to a workhorse. It can get a bit distorted in the highs and sounds 10 times better w/ a compressor( I use a CS-2) in the chain before it. Alone its on the brittle side- that said you can get some wacked out stuttery sounds when pushed to the extreme. ...

This is not directed towards you JayEm so pls dont take it the wrong way, but it seems every time I log in there is a new 'what mixer should i get?' post. Maybe we should do a mixer review/ rating sticky to round it all up in one dazzlingly brilliant infolicious orgy, while saving future space for o...

Its true it will be very inexpensive, but be prepared for alot of work if it has leaked. brushteeth you will most likely have to repair all the traces w/ jumpers that have been leaked upon, along a handful of different components. The battery is on the logic board and a very large(w/ many little pin...

I own them both and I think the Polysix has more life to it, and I use it much more than the 106. It has a more organic quality to it also will have a better resale value if you take care of it. Like O Jambo said, be very careful when buying the Polysix to make sure its not damaged from a leaky batt...

There was a chap on here - "24" ? - who could tell you all about it. From what I gather (I'm a KS4 owner), it has far more modulation possibilities, compared to the KS4 which is essentially just a well-designed subtractive synthesiser with the emphasis on performance. To Brian: I was looking at pat...

my biggest problem with 99% of the mixers out there is that they all have XLR inputs and preamps, none of which i need since my old mixer and my PC interface have both (plus i have plenty of outboard preamp choices). i wish there were more line mixers out there to choose from. If you dont want prea...
