Re: Would you buy a PPG Wave if you had the opportunity for

Mine is a Rev A also. Just a bit of luck because at the time I bought it I didn't know there were 2 versions of the MW 1

Re: Your Arturia secrets please...

It's possibly better just to see if you like the sound rather than worry about the faithfullness of the emulation..on that basis I would recommend you trying out the CS80V, I liked the sound and it does sound a bit different from the other softsynths I have. The Modular is fun but I did find a few b...

Re: Hardware Synthesizer Sales Figures/ Worst Selling Synths

How about the DX9? scaled down version of the DX7 but not astoundingly cheaper and then torpedoed by the next generation of Yamaha FM synths.

Who in their right mind would buy a DX9?

oh wait..

Re: Would you buy a PPG Wave if you had the opportunity for

Somewhat regretfully I wouldn't. I've always wanted a PPG since about 1981(?), any PPG incl the wavecomputer because i simply love the sound. However having seen pictures of someone's closet filled with them in various states of not working and currently having my fill of vintage synths with problem...

Re: Warp Factory Vocoder Question

Yes, I was being a bit lazy, I have the modular but that feels a bit like overkill and I can see me expirimenting so much nothing gets done.

But thanks for confirming it :)

Re: Warp Factory Vocoder Question

thanks guys.

My interest is twofold, I thought "surely that would work?" and also to use the robot pitch tone.

I assume by "why not just plug the thing whose pitch you're trying to track straight into the WarpFactory? " you mean the normal vocoder mode of plugging in an external carrier?

Warp Factory Vocoder Question

I've got a Warp Factory vocoder, I was thinking that as it has MIDI in, that MIDI in could be used to control the pitch of the onboard "Robot Pitch" oscillator. Doesn't seem to work.

Is it something I am doing wrong or can't it do that?

Ps, I am not vocoder man (although I have 5 vocoders)

Playing back drum samples

Hi, sorry this is a really basic question. I want to replace my Kontakt drums with TR909 samples. I have the samples from the net but I get a feeling they are playing at the wrong pitch, ie bass drum is at C1 in Cubase drum map, with other drums at other locations..is that right? Should they all be ...

Re: MiaMIDI Bit depth?

Great. You probably have a different set of documentation to me. It is clear that is so for Pure Wave, it may/may not be the case for WDM and not particularly clear for ASIO

Wiard 300 series track

Through the Gates is a spooky Sci Fi/Horror romp through the Lovecraftian abyss. Almost entirely realised on the Wiard 300 series modular, the only other sound sources were choir samples. Enjoy, but be careful of what you dream tonight. Download http://www.soundclick.com/util/downloadsong.cfm?id=866...

MiaMIDI Bit depth?

Does anyone know the bit depth for this old card? The documentation isn't clear. I think it's using the ASIO Echo WDM drivers. I'm pairing it with Cubase SX3

Thanks! Mark

Access Virus B - blank display

I came to ask a basic questio0n which I can sort of guess the answer t (see below) But the Virus B has just served up a new one. When I switch on, I get the "OS 4" and "Access Virus B"..then it goes blank. It makes the noises it should, the buttons all seem to work as do the knobs but the display re...
