Re: Patchbay mistake?

actually the hassle of plugging in and out of the patch bay is probably less. The mixer is old and as it's only used for routing it's sort of tucked in a hard to get to corner.

I'm definately a glass half full guy today :)

Re: Patchbay mistake?

drat, ok. I missed out on the line mixer, I was a moment too late. I'll still probably find a use for it.

Patchbay mistake?

Hi, I've finally got to the point where I actually have more gear than I have inputs on my modest 6:4 mixer. I bought a bunch of stuff in an auction and just noticed a Behringer PX2000 Ultrapatch Pro for about £25 and just won it. Unfortunately as I only had minutes I didn't have time to research it...

Re: Soundtower Editor for Microwave 1

Thanks guesswho. Others have said the same and then others again have found them to be really bad. I've tried the e-mail address and we'll see what happens. Attitude, yes, as I say it's recieving midi, the virtual keyboard is playing notes and I've accidently wiped all the sounds by messing about wi...

Soundtower Editor for Microwave 1

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to use the MW1 editor from Soundtower. I d/l the demo and saw that it said something about full support when you purchase. I made my purchase. The help section is useless re-telling the features I can see on the screen, I had assumed there would be a full manual. Sev...

Re: Audio track playback issues with Cubase SX3

hi, I set it to Background services a few years back. I wonder whether the improvement I got last night was either due to changing the buffer size on the card (I'll need to check latency) or posssibly the turning the graphics back..there was a lot of dense stuff on the screen

Re: Audio track playback issues with Cubase SX3

hi, I tried a few things. I increased the swap file size..I added a gb to the RAM but hadn't increased the swap file size. I increased the buffer size on the card..I'll need to test it for latency on more percussive sounds than I am currently using. I turned the graphics back to stone age style I've...

Audio track playback issues with Cubase SX3

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. After recording softsynths in Cubase SX3 and coming to understand the issues around CPU spikes etc, I'm recording hardware now. I'm getting "drop outs" or clicks every 5-10 seconds or so on audio track playback. As far as I can tell it's not on the recording. I s...

Re: Melodic New Age - Do you remember that day?

thanks. yes it's great how labels change. New Age used to mean people like Steve Hillage..ambient was Brian Eno..I also remember a guy that had an "ambient" music that was just one continuous note on a casio keyboard. Funnily enough, never heard of him again. Z, you are not Ben by any chance are you...

Re: Melodic New Age - Do you remember that day?

Thanks guys.

Actually I got the "New Age" label in the mid 80s, I didn't think it fitted then. Any suggestions for categorising this style?

I hadn't heard of rebelski, I have now! thanks

Melodic New Age - Do you remember that day?

"Do you remember that day (in 1969 when you asked what I was going to do with the rest of my life?) is a melodic New Age style piece. The idea came from a barely remembered conversation at the age of 10 when I was asked by my friends what I was going to do with my life. I had grand dreams of living ...

This House is like a Ship (All Wiard 300 series)

ok, you can't dance to this one, but anyway I'll share it. http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplayer.m3u?id=7509400&q=hi "This House is like a ship" is an experimental/ambient piece using the Wiard 300 series modular plus a Warp Factory Vocoder. Other spoken word parts were processed via Spektral Del...
