Just curious are you talking about the data knob, or one of the 4 parameter knobs?

I wish there was one here, I don't really consider them to be in the same classification as computer software. But there is a forum on KVR for mobile device apps. Since Android is laughable for audio apps, it's mostly iOS stuff.

You could try experimenting with ferrite or a toroid choke on the power cord, with a loop in it if you can. You can get these at most electronics parts stores. The noise is not from the LEDs, but rather from the clock circuit that advances the sequencer forward. It's likely that a ground was disrupt...
I have a similar limitation with my Alesis controller; it can output either direct MIDI, or MIDI over USB, not both at the same time. I use Linux and it has something called "Jack" which lets me send midi data from the USB input of my controller back to the USB/MIDI output using sort of a virtual MI...

Nasty, unclean, non-new, buzzy as h**l, warm I don't think you need to invest in a synth, I think you need a tube amp and a microphone. I recommend a Fender Bassman and a 2x12 cabinet. Then pretty much any polyphonic VA will sound much better, or you could get something like an Akai AX-80 or Korg P...
