Re: Novation Start Something

I'm guessing some kind of digital recording apparatus. Maybe an app, software, or some kind of hybrid mixer / audio interface / launchpad type of thing.

A Juno 60 sells for $1400??? That seems awfully high.

Re: Help a brother choose his first synth

I had a Virus TI, it's an amazing synth. It's a lot to wrap your head around but you can make it do pretty much anything. If it's your first and only synth then I highly recommend it. It will keep you busy for a good while and teach you a lot. You can really grow into a synth like that if you're pat...

Re: Elektron sample contest

This was super fun, really taught me a lot about my Octatrack.

Here's what I came up with:

Re: Recommendations for eerie/warm analog sounds for psych-f

Whatever you get, get a Strymon Deco pedal to run it through. It's a tape saturation / double tracker effect that sounds really nice on just about anything. It has a 'wobble' parameter that adds pitch fluctuations and tweaking the lag time parameter gently gives you that tape player with a bad motor...

Re: Someone Needs to make The EDP WASP

But if you look at how people complain about the mini keys on the MS-20 and (possibly) Odyssey reissues, imagine the moaning about touch keys on a Wasp reissue!

I'd rather they build it right then meet some arbitrary deadline.

Re: Tempest VS Analog Rytm

It's not Swiss, it's Swedish. Made in Sweden. Swiss would be Switzerland.

Anyway yes, sounds on the Tempest can be up to 6 voice polyphonic. There are a total of 6 voices so you have to keep that limit in mind. Also the sequencer is designed for percussion so it does not record polyphony.

Re: Tempest VS Analog Rytm

Ahem, Sweden vs USA. The Rytm is Swedish, not German. Anyway I have both and they're both equally good in totally different ways. To me the Tempest is a little like an A4 and Rytm in one box but minus FX and a bunch of voices. Given it's more flexible voice architecture, you could do more complete w...
