Re: Akai Rhythm Wolf vs Volca Drums&Bass

I'll let you know when Akai fixes the bass synth. For now it's pretty useless.

Discounting the broken bass synth, the only thing Akai wins on is the sequencer and pads.

Sound wise Korg all the way. The parameters on the Rhythm Wolf are pretty narrow, you can do a lot more with the Korgs.

Re: What Synth Produces That Sound?

I couldn't tell, it didn't really have any obvious defining characteristics. Could be a lot of things.

He replies to comments on his Facebook page a lot. You could try there and see if he can tell you.

Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine

Got this reply from Akai today regarding the scaling issue: The Rhythm Wolf uses analog oscillators that can vary depending on voltage, humidity, and temperature. Of the thousands of units sold, a limited but not negligible number of customers have reported that their bass synths will not scale prop...

Re: Oberheim OB12 vs Studiologic Sledge

Oh and I owned a OB-12 many years ago (somewhere around 2001 when they were cheap!) I paid $550 for it and later noticed it smelled like a cat peed on it. I currently own a Sledge. Had it about 2 weeks, looks a bit like pee but does not smell like it. Everything on the OB-12 had the zipper effect. T...

Re: Oberheim OB12 vs Studiologic Sledge

I just recorded a little demo of some monophonic sledge sounds, 'case you're curious what it can do with one voice. Mostly just tweaking an arp throughout the entire thing, nothing particularly musical. No external FX used. https://soundcloud.com/suboscillator/studiologic-sledge-monophonic-demo-soun...

I got a response from them via email stating that it should be out sometime in September.

Re: Studiologic Sledge - Hidden Parameters

well if it doesn't sync to midi than it IS a genuine Blofeld! Germans & Italians come together to build a synth; what could possibly go wrong? No, the more I play the Sledge the more I realize how brilliant and underappreciated it is. Sure it's not as flexible and fully featured as a blofeld,...

Re: Studiologic Sledge - Hidden Parameters

Hi -

I know this is an old post, but I was testing out parameters from the Blofeld manual, and found another one:

CC# 62
Noise Colour (0-127)

I was hoping to access LFO sync on #17 / #21 but they didn't work. (It did something, but nothing desirable...)

Re: Dual Elektron Monomachines demo...

Ooh, very nice! This is the best MnM demo I've seen, really showcases the softer side of it, in addition to it's aggressive potential.

Please post this on Elektronauts if you haven't already.

Re: Help me choose my synth rig!

Can you save and add synths without selling the macbook? I did the whole going out of the box thing and it was only a matter of time before I realized that hardware is nice, but some things are just better with a computer. Like being able to save an entire setup for example. Or recording. Or looping...

I'd probably try to snag a 6 voice Ambika, or maybe a Mopho x4.
