Live performance video - Tempest, Volcas

My first live video, using the Dave Smith Instruments Tempest & the Korg Volca Keys and Volca Bass. Ableton Live is pretty much a mixer / FX unit here. I did a little bit of cleaning up post production, but not much.

Little Bits synth kit product engineer on NPR Science Friday

It's not every day you turn on the radio and hear dudes talking about Minimoogs and Alesis Andromedas. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I turned on NPR Science Friday and heard a guy talking about analog synthesizers. The guests were Reggie Watts of Comedy Bang Bang and Little Bits product develop...

Re: Need help on a rare opportunity!

I would take the Prodigy and JX3P out of that list, but I wouldn't limit myself to that list. I'd sell the amp and buy either a prophet 08 or Mopho x4 depending on how much tha amp fetches. Vintage gear is fun to own unless it breaks, which it will. Then, unless you can solder, read a service manual...

MPC and a Prophet 08 or Mopho X4. If I was only gonna have one synth, I'd definitely want polyphony. Though if I was in your shoes, I'd get a MacBook, Live 9 Suite, and Push. So versatile, and fun to jam on.

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?

What's a ready-to-buy power adapter to power all three Volcas from one wall socket? There isn't one I could find. I tried the 1-Spot which Sweetwater recommends, but the 2.1mm plug is too large, and you'd have to reverse the polarity. I ended up making my own from a 9v/4a laptop power supply. It's ...

New Album, Free, Nearly All Teenage Engineering OP-1

Hi, VSE.... So I sold my OP-1 last week, a decision I'm already regretting. I've somewhat mitigated my pain and suffering by releasing an album of songs I wrote almost entirely on the OP-1, but with just a bit of Korg Monotribe, some drums, and a bit of Garageband Guitars. Enjoy! https://soundcloud....

Re: Quasimidi Sirius Problem

Glad it's working. The Sirius is a super underrated synth. I really enjoyed the two I've had over the years. It was the first keyboard I owned, purchased from the newly opened Novamusik here in Milwaukee back in about 1998 or 1999. But korg announced the ms2000 right after I got it and that led to m...
