Re: Univox tape echo unit
Well, I got it, and: suprise! It doesn't work. It passes signal, but doesn't echo. It has the tape cart it appears to be fine. Is there something I'm missing? It seems self-expanitory, but maybe it's not? Does it need some sort of extreme warmup time or something?
common problems?
Thanks

Univox tape echo unit
I found one in a thrift store that appears to be in good shape and has a tape cart. I haven't tested it, but it's $25 and untested/broken ones hit ebay at $50+. I'm already planning on getting it, but I was curious if anybody has one and what they think about it. I'll use this thread to post a revie...

Re: Has anyone ever seen or heard of the Novation KS series?
Novation KS line won't really hadle those types of sounds particularly well. I mean, any synth can do them, but you probably want an analog synth if you are looking to elp, etc. I would consider the Moog Rogue or MG-1, or the yamaha CS line. Or possibly Roland SH-09. All of those should be about the...

whoops. forgot that one. Basically, the way chain midi is using the in and thru jacks. If a device doesn't have a thru jack (I think all of yours do), you simply put it at the beginning or end of your chain. It sort of depends on what you want. You should put either the er-1 or mc-500 at the beginni...

I dont know if you can add the vl-1 programming, but there isn't a reason to. For how much work it would be, you might as well buy a vl-1 off of ebay. They are cheap. As for other mods, you should be able to add a pitch control and a voltage drop, but not much else. It's not a very glitchy-type boar...

Re: Drum machines: hardware or software ?
except for the old analog roland TRs and TBs, what could lead somebody to NOT use logic's ultrabeat: this thing has everything ! a great sequencer grouped with a 3 oscillators full synth ! you can mold your sound exactly as your wish, and then track it into a sequence.... just like any old hi hat s...

Re: CS-5 History
lol I went to a local flea market and I found the CS-5 on a shelf in one of the vendors the tag said yamaha keyboard, powers up, but only gives a static signal. so I bought it and took it home, turns out the static sound was the noise generator lol. So I think I had a good find lol What did you pay...

Ensoniq ESQ-1 (or SQ-80) does nicely in both areas in my opinion. You probably won't find a synth that does great analog bass and really believable organs, but the ESQ-1 does pretty great in both areas. Bear in mind you will need a cheap EQ to push it in the righ direction. I use a Boss bass EQ and ...
