Re: Spectralis OS development is moving ahead...

This is good news, I honestly was scared that it was abandoned a while ago. Not that I have one anymore myself, but every time I do see one pop up, I always consider getting it again. As much time as I did spend making patterns on it compared to of other drum machines/sequencers I have/had, the qual...

Re: Yamaha Rs7000 vs. Su700

I absolutely love the Rs7000's, the effects are nice, the sequencer is one of my favorites, and a good chunk of the internal sounds are useable. That said, for live use I hate it for its size, its HUGE, and keep that in mind if you are bringing other gear around. The octatrack isnt really setup the ...

Re: Replacement for Kurzweil K2000

I have a Kurzweil Pc3x for sale, its a bit over what you are looking to spend, but my favorite of the kurzweils I have owned, plus a computer editor which made things a breeze to work with.

Re: Modular: Silly start?

I do mostly rhythmic things with my modular, and am looking at some of those same units myself, so this is all very useful information to me as well :-) I only have one Euro module, a make noise rene, which I would also recommend, it would offer something a bit different then the other modules, but ...

Re: Cheapest way to control a modular

you can send a click track as an audio out from your computer to your modular to clock it. I was sending a hihat from my tempest to control my Serge for a while until i got a minibrute, worked fine, but the minibrute works a lot better to sync.

Re: Spectralis vs. A4

I was a speckie owner for years, and I felt I had a very wide pallet for sound creation with it, it was my main machine for quite a number of years. On its own it does sound great, and you can get a lot done with it, however I always preferred to use it in combination with something else. It pairs u...

Re: New Spectralis video (Roland TB-303 sound)

Sounds good, sounds like a spectralis, which I think is way cooler then a 303 ;-)

The 303 sound is pretty good though, doesnt sound as squelchy obviously, but I dont think you can really get that on the speck.

Nice video though, and tune, makes me miss my spectralis more.

Re: Minibrute as CV interface for Pro One

99% of my minibrute usage is a MIDI to CV converter for my serge system. Basically I take the midi out from my tempest into the minibrute midi in, and use the CV outs on the to control my serge. Lots of fun as the arp on the minibrute does different clock divisions, with swing, all tempo synced to t...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell a Jupiter 8 and buy EVERYTHING

Traded my jupiter 8 last year as well, sure it was a great synth, but way over hyped. Sure it sounded great, but my Andromeda and Serge modular can do a whole h**l of a lot more and still keep a smile on my face.

Re: Consensus on OP1

I had one for a few weeks, it was interesting, fun to use, but ended up trading it as I didn't see myself having much of a use for it in my set up.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Korg Kron

Every few years I sell off everything and start fresh, wouldn't do it for a kronos personally, but if it fits what you are looking for in a single unit then do what you think will make you happy and your workflow best.
