its a shame because its probably owned by some collector who never uses it. One of 'm is owned by Ben Liebrand , who uses it on pretty much every single one of his mixes. See http://www.liebrand.nl/la/vocoder.html any ideas welcome ! Ben has a studio himself, so your friend might be able to hook up...

sennheiser vocoder

hi there, i have been asked for a friend of mine to track down a sennheiser vocoder or something of similiar quality. i know this vocoder was used by kraftwerk and herbie hancock on his album on 'sunlight', as far as i can see this is the best vocoder ever made in terms of sound quality and legibili...

hi there, yeah its set up for japanese power, i had the same thing and i used an american step down transformer which worked fine. you can get them from maplins for a tenner. japanese power i think works on 110v, us is 120v, uk is 240, so you need a brick to take the edge off before it hits the synt...

I think trying to convincingly emulate the dynamics of a real human drummer to the degree of realism that you seem to want is ultimately going to be an exercise in futility. Kind of like trying to get a synth to convincingly sound like a guitar, you might be able to get close with a whole shitload ...

if you want those sounds, just buy the old gear, i doubt you'll be satisfied with new stuff, unless its the dave smith pro 8 / moog phatty.. these virtual analogues, tho nice instruments in themselves dont really do the vintage thing properly. take it from a massive 80s head, if you want those sound...

AC - have you used the arpeggiator trigger in yet ? if not then do. pretty amazing. Its such an organic synth, and i throws up so much when you sit behind it, i h...

good hijack tho,
ive got a stack of jazz fusion stuff, when i was about eighteen it was such an exciting sound, i always liked the synthy stuff - herbie, weather report, anything produced by the mizzell brothers, anything produced by grusin and rosen, god they could cut records then, what a sound.
