Re: Moog Sub 37, finaly a new poliphonic Moog?

I'd just prefer a Moog where the knobs controlled the functions instead of the knobs controlling a digital thang that controlled the functions. But that's what all of you get when you demand TABLETOP TABLETOP TABLETOP USB USB USB Well, you already have one of those ;) Most of the time I find no dis...

Re: Favorite Stringer?

Don't know how useful this is, but these are my experiences on the string machines I've owned or played with enough to form an opinion. Logan String Melody Soft, lush, ethereal. Probably my favourite string ensemble sound. Doesn't cut through the mix as well as some others. But man, I just love the ...

Re: Just played with a Novation BS2...

the moog is not capable of doing anything the Bs can't do and sound very close to it (almost always distorted) for twice more money, The little Moog is "almost always distorted" only if the programmer so chooses. That said, it's certainly not the most capable monosynth out there, the Moog filter is...

Just a simple sequence I farted out the first time I plugged the Sub Phatty in:

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Good news for fans of classic electronic film scores... Richard Einhorn's soundtrack to the cult horror movie SHOCK WAVES (1977) will be released on CD in 2014! That has got to be one of the most amazing movie plots ever. Underwater nazi zombies. Can't beat that! The score adds greatly to the atmos...

Re: iPad audio interface, looping sequencer, and audio edito

Hey, JS, nice to hear from an old VSE regular :) Spotted you while lurking on rf-forums... Don't think there is anything as full featured as Live for the iPad, but something like Beatmaker 2 may get you close. http://intua.net/products/beatmaker2/ Then there is Cubasis, or simpler stuff like Musaico...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Edit: I just bought your album on iTunes. s**t is great! Is there any vinyl available? Well, you're much too kind. Really. But thank you! Regarding the vinyl, yes, we released one, and no, they're not sold out yet. I think. But if Svart Records have none left, I can't say where to look for one. Som...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Sorry for the spam, but I feel our upcoming short movie owes so much to many of the movies and soundtracks discussed in this thread, that I can't help but toot my horn a little.

Have a great weekend, folks!

Re: Rhodes Chroma Polaris vs Roland Juno 60

Even with the new panels that fix the ribbon problem, I wouldn't want to tour with the Polaris. It is heavy!

Re: Rhodes Chroma Polaris vs Roland Juno 60

Having owned a couple Juno-60s and now having the Polaris, I would do the switch in a heartbeat. That said, you can't beat the Juno for immediacy and there are some things it does better (fast, percussive stuff, etc.), so if those types of sounds are essential to you... I would buy the Polaris (mayb...

Re: iPad 4/Lightning...audio over USB?

Some USB audio and MIDI interfaces work just fine without a powered hub, but yeah, many do not. I use the Lightning-USB Camera Connection kit with a M-Audio Keystation 61ES and I don't need a hub, but that's MIDI only. At least some interfaces can provide audio as well as MIDI simultaneously to the ...

Re: iPad vs Android tablets

Curious. An iPad can be a decent sketchpad to jot down musical ideas on, exporting them later to the studio PC -- but do you really want it to be anything else?: [/size] Well, if you do so desire, it can be! Besides using my iPad as a sketchpad (DM1, Tabletop) and a musical toy (Yellofier!) I also ...
