Wasn't it a 2600 for the bass? And Prophet-5 for other synths..?bigman2005 wrote: It's a ARP 2500, not a mini moog that you hear on both "Lucky Star" and "Borderline". I know this because I have the multi tracks.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6
You love that Prophet. If this is true, I wouldn't sell the Prophet in favour of JP-6. Unless you love the JP-6 more ;) I used to own a P-600, well, two actually, at different times. I'm happier with the JP-6, but I missed the P-600 quite a bit until I got the Polaris, which has similar sonic DNA. ...

Always good to see him online.

Some nice and unexpected features under the hood. And a proper LFO, nice! And the different multidrive characteristics sound promising. I likes!
But why god why that two octave keyboard?

Re: New Moog
It does have CV/Gate. On the side, like on the LP. Thoser are CV/Gate inputs only, like on a stock LP. There is a CV-output mod for the LP, maybe they'll make that available for the SubP as well. Judging from the demos, I have to admit that I rather like the sound, when it's not destroyed by excess...

Re: What I'd like in a polysynth
Benny Anderson in his studio has only one analog polysynth exсept GX-1, guess what synth is that? But, I'm sure it's not an argument for you, who's the h**l Benny Anderson in the end?! Well, it's not an argument for anybody, as it's purely a matter of taste. Argument from authority doesn't make it ...

Re: New Moog
Judging by this and my recollection of the Voyager and LP, the Sub Phatty does sound different from the other modern Moogs. More "bite" if you will.

Polaris keycontacts repaired (aside from two that are still dead), time for another demo:
Admittedly boring, random and clichéd.

Re: What I'd like in a polysynth
I always thought chorus on a synth was more like balsamico (that thick and sweeter type) on vanilla icecream and strawberries. Tastes fab!Automatic Gainsay wrote:If you put mustard... even really great mustard... on ice cream, it's going to taste like mustard.

Re: What I'd like in a polysynth
Many manufacturers use VCOs nowadays. The abundance of stable VCOs in the modular world is almost overwhelming. Minibrute, Vermona synths, Studio Electronics gear and all the Moog synths are VCOs. And if I'm not mistaken, the Mutable instruments Anushri is a VCO synth... How many and which one's of...

Re: What I'd like in a polysynth
There's a good reason synth mfr's dont use VCO's anymore.. they drift out of synch eventually. Many manufacturers use VCOs nowadays. Re: What I'd like in a polysynth
Now, the most important thing: NO ZIPPER EFFECT. When I tweak a parameter, I want to hear it smoothly and musically morph into a new sound. I don't want to hear any of that horrible, digital-sounding mess like on the Juno-106 and the Prophet 600. I want it to be MUSICAL. My question: Does such a sy...

Re: Moog Opus 3 Chorus Replacement
Are you sure it's the BBD chips alone? IIRC, an acquaintance of mine had his Opus re-capped to fix this exact same problem. Mind you, I could be way off mark here as I'm not tech savvy at all, just repeating something I was told.
Hope you can get it fixed!
