Arp Axxe - Instant 70's p**n soundtrack melodies (and bass). A very funky little synth. Casio CZ1000 - Sounds like a noisy aliasing crap-machine, sometimes in a nice way. Crumar Multiman S - Very nice strings. Not lush, but more "authentic" than the Solina. E-Mu Vintage Pro - My first rompler. Z-pl...

Alpha Juno-2, purchased 10 years ago. I still have it and I still love it. We've been through a lot together :)

So these 880KB disks are different from PC 720KB DD disks? I hope not. If it only lies in the formatting procedure, the synth will fix that for me. It has its own Format command. It's just a different formatting procedure. So if you decide to go with DD disks, any type will do. I wonder if my Amiga...

Slightly OT... I distinctly remember that my old Amiga diskettes were 720KB size, not 880KB. Formatted DSDD Amiga disks are indeed 880Kb in size. PC formatted DSDD disks are 720Kb. Wasn't Ensoniq Mirage basically built around Amiga's Paula chip? I used to use 1.44MB HD ones with my EPS by taping ove...

Don't hate me. . . I love a pedal steel. They are especially incredible live. I love pedal steel. And harmonica. And Neil Young's voice. Separate or combined. Hey, why not throw a fiddle in the mix. And an old Martin acoustic guitar. What's there not to love? You are welcome to hate me :D - CM "I l...

I have only tried the Minimoog V and Minimonsta, and soundwise I much preferred the Minimonsta. Creamware's Minimax has been receiving a lot of praise for authenticity, but I haven't tried it myself.

But the real answer to this topic is... of course... Macbeth M3X :P

At the moment I'm really loving P600's sync sounds. Especially when combined with a Boss DC-2. Zawinul's 'reedy' 2600 leads, Vox Humana and that sound on Black Sabbath's Who Are You? (played by Rick Wakeman) are other favourites.

Inspired by Ocp's YouTube videos, and to vent my own frustrations, I started toying with the Macbeth M3X this morning. I recorded around 45 minutes of a simple arpeggio line while I tweaked away. Since there aren't too many M3X mp3s available, I decided to put parts of my recordings available online...

Crumar Multiman S & Moog Opus3 strings

edited to add another Opus3 sample... A couple of short clips from Crumar Multiman S and one from Moog Opus3. Quality of these clips isn't that great as these were recorded with a crappy audio interface and with poor levels. These are just basic examples of the basic string ensemble sounds, no fancy...

Here are some short mp3 examples of the Yamaha SK20. No fancy playing or groundbreaking sounds, just a tour of the basic sounds and a touch of reverb. http://koti.mbnet.fi/daisy/SK20/sk05.jpg SK20's three organ presets with alternating leslie speed. In addition to presets the "drawbar" settings can ...
