Re: What drum machine is this snare from?
While we're on the subject, what snare is this? I know all the sounds are coming from one machine, as they are used throughout the album, He Said "Hail" 1986 To me it sounds like the original source of the sample is Led Zep's "When the L...

Re: Classic Stephen Hawking Voice Synthesizer?
Plogue's chipspeech emulates several famous different voice synthesizers including the DECtalk used by Stephen Hawking. TTS and sings, everything you'd want in a plug-in.

Re: Best Linux software for synth nerds and producers?
Reaper under Wine is officially supported. There is also a native port of Reaper to Linux underway but it is still in the very, very early stages.

Re: Way Out Ware's KikAxxe Synthesizer - Anyone use?
It's available as a VST and a standalone. You can try it for yourself. The demo is fully functional for 30 days. http://www.wayoutware.com/katrybuy.php I wasn't too taken with it. I find the Axxe's architecture to be fairly boring (for a softsynth). I already have a couple dozen synths that do the s...

If one likes the sound of Ableton Live's Analog synth but wants something to use outside of Live, check out the Ultra Analog synth from the same developers.

Re: 303,808,909 the classic's
I think the D16 line is great. I also like the Audiorealism Drum Machine. You get 808, 909, and 606 generators. You can also choose to load your own sample in one of the slots instead of a x0x generator so you get the best of both worlds. Feel like layering an 808 snare with a LinnDrum snare? No prob.

Re: KDJ-One Portable "DAW"
It says it can be used to control a DAW on your computer and then I imagine you can have your hardware synths slaved to that. If that's the case it looks like it would be a fun way to compose and jam away from the computer.

Re: Fairlight CMI app for iPhone.
They probably feel that would cannibalize sales of their upcoming new CMI. Why spend $17,000 (or whatever) on a piece of hardware when you can duplicate the functionality in software for $50?garranimal wrote:wtf they just skip over the pc/laptop/mac markets? Am I missing something again that's already out there?

Re: CLASSIC DRUM MACHINE SONGS - YouTube Links....
From http://www.insoc.org/DiscIS.HTML Roey [Shamir] seemed to know how to bring out that powerful booming sound we were going for. It was in these mix sessions, in fact, where we first came upon that signature "Information Society Sound"; Big bass boom with a LOT of syncopated synth echoes. It was t...
