Re: Digital or analog?
Have to disagree completely on current music being soulless too, especially the stuff i listen to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVHT-EJyqGI please explain how this is soulless. VNV isn't souless just cheesy as h**l, they're basically ebm coldplay  . That being said I have a pretty big soft ...

Re: Digital or analog?
All the new hardware is s**t. Built like s**t from China. And uninspiring. IMHO. I will walk in music stores and gag at the quality of cheap components. All color lights, pretty, hipster, anyone can make music c**p. There is value in old, broken in, worn out, analog wood cased synths. They allow fo...

Honestly I'd recommend a VA with both fm and wavetable capabilities, even if that doesn't match your criteria.

Ok, this all a bit stupid. That being said investing in some monitors isn't a bad idea.DocDeF4U17 wrote:PC speakers sound like shet compared to a regular amp, only little scrubs play through pc speakrs who think their vangelis who got bored and decided to learn music on a program only minus the skill

Re: How Do You Play Synthesizers Through PC Speakers? What D
You have several options, buy a usb audio interface with multiple inputs, buy an analog mixer with a built in usb audio interface, or buy an analog mixer and a separate usb audio interface. For years I used a cheap yamaha analog mixer with an even cheaper behringer UCA202. Frankly I'd go ahead and g...

Re: UltraNova vs. MiniNova vs. other similar VAs
If your willing to buy used Nord Leads and Access Viruses have come down in price recently. Also in the past I've recorded with a behringer uca202. I'm typically cynical about behringer products, but its served me well over the years. I believe some audiophile website did a thorough testing of it ye...

Re: Shamelessly digital synth to pair with analog?
I'm a big fan of the sy22/tg33/sy35 line of synths, and honestly I don't find them too hard to program. That being said sy edit is most likely still floating round the internet and makes things a great deal easier, plus it allows access to fm parameters which are not accessible from the front panel....

Re: Sound Engineering Techniques for Dance Music
So taking all this in account how did Orbital manage to get away with recording Chime on their dad's cassette deck? It was a different era then, with different expectations for how a finished product should sound, and / or, proper use of texture. The move towards clean, separated, hi fi sounding da...

Re: Eurorack suggestions - new to modular
I'm a little burned out on the euro format and ultimately ended up using my system as an analog mono synth, but I'll throw my two cents in. Don't shy away from Doepfer, despite being cheaper their modules are of good quality and they've produced some gems. The doepfer wasp filter is a lot of fun, an...

Re: Sound Engineering Techniques for Dance Music
Mixing and production work never really interested me. I just know its better to cut than to boost, best to keep the snare, and kick on their own channels, and throw in a bit of panning. Guess I'm just tin eared and lazy and don't really give a f**k about creating banger dance tunes. That being said...

Didn't read since its too long, also I don't know the first thing about mixing and production, but I still make garbage electronic music despite these facts. Woot Woot. Yay its another necro thread on vse.
