Re: What was the cheapest Synth you ever bought?

I got a Korg 05r/w for 30 Swiss Francs and sold it on E-Bay for 260. With the money I bought myself a Yamaha AN1x (I found one for 200) and kept the other 30 Francs. I am borrowing a MS 10 from a Friend, he got it for 100 Francs (guess I won't be able to make him sell it to me for that price).

Yamaha RM1x bank and program change messages

Hello! Can anyone tell me how to configure the RM1x to send bank and program change messages to external sound modules which are assigned to a part of a pattern? It always automatically switches to bank 1 and program 1 of the external instruments that are assigned to the corresponding midi-channel o...

USE Audio Plugiator?

Is it worth thinking about? Does anyone have an opinion on the quality of the analog emulations (Minimax, Prodissey, Pro 5), do they each sound different? What about the Hammond, Lightwave and the Vocoder?

Thanks!

Yes, the Korg DSS-1! (got it for 150 Swiss Francs).

I think the Yamaha AN-200 (resp. the PLG-150AN plug-in-board) should be mentioned here as well (think of its four freely drawable and assignable EGs with tap-tempo).

Biggest bang for the buck?

Hello there. What combination of synthesizers would you recommend if you are not a collector (and don't want to pay astronomic prices for nostalgia) but want to have a versatile and powerful combination of hardware? On the search for maximal power and minimal price... - analog Monosynth (VCO) - anal...

In my opinion the number of synths to own is determined by the number of different methods in sound-synthesis. But I do believe even one Motif equipped with a PLG-150AN and a PLG-150DX could cover almost the whole spectrum of possible sounds.

Midi Controllers with envelope generators and LFO's?

Hi there

Are there midi controllers on the market that do not only have assignable knobs, buttons, pads or sliders, but also can modulate parameters via a programmable LFO or EG?

Roland D-110: PWM and LFO??

Hello! I own a Roland D-110. I (finally) downloaded the manual and read it thru. I found two things I would consider a faliure in the architecture this machine: Pulsewidth can only be controlled by the velocity and the LFO only can control the pitch!? Did I get this right? If yes, is there any way t...

Korg Poly 800 II: control change numbers and software-editor

Hello I got a Korg Poly 800 MK II. It has inhanced midi-implementation and can read sysex. Can I use a Midi-controller for programming this synth (by assigning the cc-numbers to the various knobs)? I do not have the manual, so I need to get the midi-parameter-table somewhere (if something like this ...

Best Module for Rhodes and Wurlitzer?

I got myself an E-MU VK+ and am very happy with the Mellotron, Hammond and Synth samples. What dissapointed me are the Rhodes and Wurlitzer patches.

Is there anyone who could recommend a unit with great Rhodes and Wurlitzer sounds?

Thanks!!
