Re: Synths midi reaction time constant?

If your DAW only has one midi delay setting and you have multiple midi ports with gear, you're gonna have to use a curve. Whichever device is quickest, that's what gets set in the midi delay compensation. I don't know if there is a DAW that has per-port compensation. Someone tell me if there is, pl...

Re: Synths midi reaction time constant?

I can't remember whether it was on the SoS forums or in a recent issue of the magazine but it was clearly stated that audio buffer sizes do have an effect on MIDI data... Basically, if you have a big buffer, you'll get more...

Synths midi reaction time constant?

I understand that different hardware synths all exhibit a different reaction time/delay to incoming midi note data, and it can vary depending on the manufacturers hardware. This can be up to 15ms on older units. What i'd like to know is if a synth does have a slow reaction time of 15ms for example, ...

Re: A fast 80s Melodic Synth Instrumental Using Free Synths

I've not commented before, but I really like all of these 80's tracks you're doing. I just love the whole vibe and retro sound of them.
All excellent. Look forward to hearing more of them :D

Re: Synth Basslines on Madonnas Into the Groove?

From Dave Frank himself... "The sussudio bass sound was 2 tracks of minimoog sequenced on a oberheim dsx sequencer. Not midi.. .control voltage/gate. First we recorded a sound with lots of bottom without any resonance on the filter.the other track was lots of resonance+ super fast decay on the filte...

Re: Who can identify these vintage analog synths

There's heaps of his stuff all over blogs if anyone wants to hear more stuff like it, including a remix he did of my band's single last year. Not bad for a 17 year old. You got any links? I pretty much enjoyed the OP's mp3 clip, which was why I asked about further info on the track :) I had a feeli...

Video from 1981 http://www.thejoycircuit.co.uk/musicpage/video/wk4/Tangerine_Dream_KiewMission_Live_1981.wmv The song was played semi playback. The PPG Melody line comes from the tape. Nobody plays this live. I suspect that the sequencer by Froese and Schmoelling only for show. Because what instrum...

I never made these mp3s, but I got hold of these Jupiter 8V Vs Jupiter 8 files off a Dutch forum some time ago... In each case the Jupiter 8V plays first followed by the real Jupiter 8... This first mp3 shows the unison mode of each. There's a MASSIVE difference between the two.... the 8V sounds rea...
